Hey all, I'm looking to buy a new racket for my younger cousin (14). He's still growing but for his age, he's quite powerful. His parents bought him a AT-900T for his birthday and he told me he can't get any power out of it. He was using my old MP-88 but I broke it so now I'm looking for something new for him. I'm thinking something light and flexible for him. Also cheap since I'm paying haha .
AT600 is head heavy and light at 4U, I've been recommending it loads to former MP-88 users because it's probably the closest thing to it currently in production. It's a tad expensive but worth it if it's what he wants in a racket.
I was considering the AT-600 before i posted but I was hoping someone can recommend me a cheaper racket haha. I've played the AT-600 before and it does play quite similar to my old MP-88. I'm hoping to buy a racket under $100 USD
there's some great sotx racquets for sale on ebay right on. the last racquet i saw get sold (i lost) was only 21 dollars its the super-light lineup LG-600 sotx makes really good racquets reason why im not getting it is 'cause my mom won't let me have three racquets :crying::crying::crying: now i have: 1 Yonex Nanospeed 1 Apacs Furious the lg-600 weighs around 76-83 grams
Whats the stiffness of them? I don't want to buy him a stiff racket cuz it will easily injure his shoulder since his muscles aren't matured yet. On a side note. $21 for a racket, I might pick one up for fun haha
Well if you're looking for something cheaper than yonex, Victor makes some very good rackets. If you're looking for light yet powerful, the Superwaves 33P might be nice but i personally think an arterytec ti-99 4U might be even better. The ti-99 might be a bit stiff so if you prefer something with a medium flex, the artertec ti-98 is really great.
new post: errr. he's powerful yet he cant get power from a 900-t? the kason light weight racquets (see above post by jymbalaya) are indeed excellent but as your cousin is a beginner/novice and only 14 and since the armortec 900 technique is an amazing racquet, just tell him to play w/ and get used to it as he'll have to eventually. anyway its not like its EXTREMELY stiff. give him a month or two
