Tough barrier for Choon Hann

    Not sure how Choon Hann can neutralise Sony fierceful attack in the final, the best way to do is by attacking instead of defending. The disadvantage Choon Hann is facing is stamina as he did go thru rubber to beat Susilo while Sony cruised thru Roslin in straight sets, not much help from Choon Hann's countryman.
    Keep the shuttle low and use your vast experiences to overcome Sonny, that's my advise to Choon Hann

    If Choong Hann played like he did in the World Champs in Birmingham, Sony has no chance.

    i watch the match towards the end of first set.......


    it looks like choon hann didn't have chance to attack... and many times... were sent to all corners of the court by sony........ also.. sony pushed him to the limits... forcing him to strecth for every shot..... especially when choon hann gave a cross court drop from baseline and sony gives a straight net.. CH has to run diagonally to reach... and many times... i think he lost his balance.. and couldn't reach in time

    The problem with Wong is that he is not as agressive. Sometimes when i watch him play , he don't go for the kill right away when he have the chance. Less smashes from him.

    At this international level, is not the better player win rather player who plays better win. In this case, Sony played better than Choon Hann hence won the medal. Dissapinting outcome for MS of Malaysia luckily we have Miew Choo ...

    Looks like you were right, Han.

    Just looking at Sony's results recently, it looks like he is on a steep learning curve. Probably had more confidence after winning the recent ABC.

    Although Sony's progress has not been as fast as Bao Chun Lai, Lin Dan (all 3 played in the world junior champs at the same time), it seems he is now starting to catch up.

    Maybe Wong didn't smash because Sony's positioning and returns of smashes were good that day?

    Right, Sony played at same time with Bao Chun Lai & Lin Dan in World Junior Champs, but Sony (born at 1984) is younger than both players. Actually Sony could played in WJC last year at South Africa, but PBSI didn't send him and only sent Simon Santoso and Roy Purnomo.
