So how is badminton going for you? Its been great for me at least... i've played for 1 month and i made varsity for my hs's badminton team i've watched alot of world badminton matches(mostly All England 08/09) and i've improved alot i could jump/smash and mid speed clear some where to the back alley my drop are ok but i think i could alot more work on it i even look on some badminton sites for technique help and i think every beginner should try reading http://www.badminton-information.com/ i've been only playing for 1 month and i've improved every day! im currently a doubles player but moving to singles soon So hows it been for you?
love it for me , i get more agile as i play.. i can actually feel my joints ''loosen'' as i play.. and this is amazing coz' i have quite a big body
I've been on hiatus from badminton for about 1 1/2 years and just started up again. I'm lugging an extra 40lbs now and lacking muscle. I'm not as quick as I used to be (not that I was quick in the first place) and all my shots are gone. Slices are gone, smashes are so much weaker, and clears are short. Going from being able to backhand clear cross-court full court to only hitting 3/4 of the court straight across. Anyways, I'm happy to be playing again.
Really, really well. I'm having a reasonably good season, no wait, an excellent season. As well as obtaining captaincy of my club's under fifteen team, I have been able to consistently beat the under 17 players as well. I have developed my defensive/control game in order to become more of an all-rounder. After a shaky start, I think this season is going to be a good one.
I play o.k., then awesome, then great, then good, then o.k., then bad, then terrible, then get-up-and-leave. I warm up, Im doing great, then as time passes, I get worse and worse. Im trying different things to stop this from happening, like tomorrow im going to eat 3 different items of food at 3 different times. hopefully it works...grrr...
I think badminton is a fantastic game!.. It's just that i had been playing it and now i stopped due to some reason...:crying: So if there's any chance i can come back into badminton, i will take it. I just love watching the tournaments on TV and Live. It's awesome!
^ Haha nice. It's been good lately for me, since im a freshman too(in high school), the person i could never beat from the other junior high for the last 3 years at regionals (being 2nd is starting to piss me off) is the other singles person on my hs team BUT.... I can beat that person. Weird how that works. Must've gotten worse or something rofl. But anyways, divisionals are in a week's time, that's when I'll actually know how I've improved!
@ LVbeam nice well league finals are almost here at California i feal me and my partner have increase our doubles play alot along with our technique
Honestly....... - Since my right upper limb started to familiarised itself with this object we call racket.....i've been a hardcore Yonex fan and......however, after being a hardcore Yonex fan for all there years.........i admit now to love using Protech racket...but...as a result...... - I don't know where on earth is my AT700 now....coz my son hide it......and... - I'm working overnight now....again.....as i just bought an AT900P for him after he saw LCW trashed LD, a few weeks back.....which in result... - I've not been playing badminton at evening for some time coz working....and to make more burden... - I need to finish gardening after i finished working..................
I've been playing for about 6 months now. I switched from tennis. I was the captain of my high school tennis team. The people in the club could tell I was a tennis player right away. What gave it away? The two-handed backhand? Ha. But after 6 months, I feel like I've improved mighty quickly. My main game is doubles and I excel in that because I'm left handed (throws off my opponents), great court awareness, and fast reflexes. (I also play ping pong) I struggle with in singles mainly because of footwork, but I've been working on that for a week or so now and I've been moving much better. I even surprisingly beat this player in my club 21-5. It was only a couple of weeks ago when it was pretty close. I'm going to the Boston Open this May and might possibly compete in doubles. If any of you are going. Tell me.
