    as predicted.

what is interesting is the following stats:

    game1

    FHF/CY : KKK/TBH

    smash winner 4:5
    net winner 6:13
    other 11:4

    game 2

    smash winner 7:6
    net winner 11:7
    other 0:5

    game 3

    smash winner 2:11
    net winner 8:8
    other 3:3

what is intersting then, is that in both game 1 and 2, neither team was able to smash through to make an outright win. now we all know how offensive FHF/CY is, what is different this match is that KKK/TBH has excellent defense. with their smash not penetrating, FHF/CY has no advantage.

the reason FHF/CY won the 2nd game is that they won more on the net.

however, on the 3rd, it was different, the Great Wall was showing some leak in their defense, allowing KKK/TBH to sneak in for the win.

The thread on Fu's arm has nothing to do with injury things. The opposite.

Congrat. on Koo/Tan's advance to Final! That's what I exactly predicted. :)

*kwun- when KKK & TBH are on, their defense can be as menacing as the Great Wall. For example, remember their SS Masters Final match vs. LYD & JJS, with KKK doing the sitting-duck defense. Add to that the playmaking ability of KKK.
I thought Cai & Yu escaped facing an INA or MAS MD pairs last week on their way to their AE title.
*limsy - He should still be in L.A. but I've heard no word from Hau-ge, either. Don't know where he is or what he's up to..

..on that note, enjoy the rest of the matches as i'm off to go kill some birdies (dead birds, i mean)...see y'all again later..

Great chance for Koo/Tan to grab the title now.

To echo kwun's comments, Fu Haifeng/Cai Yun are typically vulnerable to MAS pairs as well as Kido/Hendra. However, they are good against DEN and KOR pairs (despite the one loss to Jung/Lee in the Thomas Cup Final, they have impressive head-to-head records over the KOR pairs).

Bingo!!! Just like the Danish pairs train to beat KOR pairs in particular :D

CHN usually cannot adapt to playing in front of the net. Just look at how Hendra Setiawan usually dominated Cai Yun in that aspect.
