2009 All England: Many are hoping to watch a TH-PG match there

    .
So, in Round of 16, Taufik will face Andrew Smith [ENG] today, Thursday 5-Mar-2009. And many think that TH will win this round too.

The next round will be the Quarter-Finals, where either Peter Gade [DEN] or Ng Wei [HKG] will be waiting for him.

Many are hoping to watch a TH-PG match there.

Like I said before, professional player opinion >>>>> fanboy opinion. If I wanted too, I could argue until doomsday that the Super Series final is more prestige than WC but that doesn't make it true.

Hell, I could even argue that the only reason why Lindan even won the WC 06 is because Taufik wasn't even putting 50% effort. Been there, done that just like Olympic games. He was unmotivated.

Fortunately for you, I'm no blind fanboy who make ridiculous statement.

Lets try to keep this professional guys...no need to call each other ridiculous or accuse each other of things - if you don't wish to be nice, be civil. Theres no need to start talking about each other rather than what the topic was started at - Taufik's chances at all england '09.

As for the topic I really want to see Taufik play Lin Dan...that would be so fun to watch xD

A great deal of mutual 'praise' has been deleted ;)

But we're not for members discussing other members.

    TH vs Smith

There is one thing strange about the game statistics. The number of "other" points is huge.

    Gade, LCW and LD.

    ^^That's like..^^

..arguably the most challenging last 3 opponents Taufik will ever face and perhaps, should he win, be his greatest accomplishment.
A legendary player on the journey to his retirement, a great player sitting comfortably (w/his Datuk hat) as the WR 1 and a soon to be Legendary Player still playing at the peak of his career...ckckck, wow, what better challenge for the Wild Child of Badminton to possibly finish his long and illustrious career on a great note, if he should win it all..;)

Taufik ain't gonna win the All England playing like he did today, I'm afraid. He's a notoriously slow starter, but even in the latter two sets he didn't seem in the game. He was hardly doing any smashes at all, which I thought was surprising.
I really hope he ups his game for playing Gade tomorrow, but two 3-set matches might have taken it out of him.

Still, it was nice to see him beat the home-boy. I was the only person in the crowd shouting "GO TAUFIK!!" :p
