    Greetings,

Wong Choong Hann's past records at the German Open are not good.
Every second year, he would try:
    2003 ... Round of 32
    2005 ... Quarter-Finals
    2007 ... Quarter-Finals

In 2009, could he get past the Quarter-Finals? Probably he could get his best result there this time.

So, let's follow Wong Choong Hann at the German Open 2009.

WCH's first match is on tomorrow, Day 2, Wednesday 25-Feb-2009 at 12:00 noon:
    Mathias Wigardt[IMG][SWE] - [IMG][MAS] Choong Hann Wong [3]

All the Best to Wong Choong Hann !!!

    Cheers... chris-ccc

2009 German Open: If WCH reaches the QF...

    .
If WCH reaches the QF, which I hope he will, then he could to meeting Gong Weijie, Sho Sasaki or Chetan Anand.

2009 German Open: Chen Long is in great form

    .
Yes, I also feel uncomfortable for Wong Choong Hann.

Today, Friday 27-Feb-2009, at the Quarter-Finals, WCH will be facing Chen Long who appears to be in great form.

All the Best to Wong Choong Hann !!!

2009 German Open: Wong Choong Hann now at the Quarter-Finals

    .
Loh ... It would be great if WCH can make it to the Semi-Finals.

BTW, Wong Choong Hann's results so far:

R64: Choong Hann Wong [3] [IMG] [MAS] - [IMG] [SWE] Mathias Wigardt 21-15, 21-15 in 0:30
R32: Choong Hann Wong [3] [IMG] [MAS] - [IMG] [SUI] Christian Bösiger 21-12, 21-10 in 0:25
    R16: Choong Hann Wong [3] [IMG] [MAS] - [IMG] [IND] Anup Sridhar [15] 21-16, 21-18 in 0:32
Q-F: Choong Hann Wong [3] [IMG] [MAS] - [IMG] [CHN] Long Chen to be played later today

If WCH wins the Q-F, he will face Gong Weijie or Chetan Anand at the Semi-Finals.

2009 German Open MS QF: Chen Long defeated Wong Choong Hann 9-21, 21-19, 21-16

    .
To us, it was a short journey... but for WCH, he might tell us that it has been a long one.

Concluding Wong Choong Hann's results at this 2009 German Open:
R64: Choong Hann Wong [3] [IMG] [MAS] - [IMG] [SWE] Mathias Wigardt 21-15, 21-15 in 0:30
R32: Choong Hann Wong [3] [IMG] [MAS] - [IMG] [SUI] Christian Bösiger 21-12, 21-10 in 0:25
    R16: Choong Hann Wong [3] [IMG] [MAS] - [IMG] [IND] Anup Sridhar [15] 21-16, 21-18 in 0:32
    Q-F: Choong Hann Wong [3] [IMG] [MAS] - [IMG] [CHN] Long Chen 21-9, 19-21, 16-21 in 0:59

Disappointed to find WCH ended at Quarter-Finals again. Perhaps, this could be his last attempt for this tournament.

However, it's always great to find WCH 'never-say-die' attitude. Coming back from 2-13 to 16-17 in the 3rd game must have drained him not only physically, but mentally.

But Chen Long ought to be congratulated for defeating 'Old Warrior' WCH.
