that is why LD isn't playing much lately. Appearance fee is greater than title prize, so why go play every tournament?
LCW is indeed impressive at the moment and I havent seen him better than recently. However some world class players just dont get the OG or WC title since so many factors are involved when you participate in those tournaments. You might have the skill and advantage in terms of talent but consider for example Peter Gade who was considered the best from around 1998-2001 pre injury, he never got any victories in the Olympics nor WC since he wasnt mentally strong enough and choked everytime he reached the last four. Morten Frost another dane also didnt get to be a world champion even if he reached the final twice. He however was mentally very strong and at the same time also very skilled but on the day met a better player and perhaps missed that bit of luck that you need to win such matches. Kim Dong Moon a third example never got to be Olympic champion with Ra despite that they were clearly the biggest favourite in both Sydney and Athen. The conclusion to this is that major events sometimes requires more than just raw talent and skills. It requires you to be mentally 110% prepared and have that extra bit of luck.
