i've converted a video for modious but i don't know who is playing. it is a friendly match between china and indonesia in 1980. i think the indonesian with long hair (right side of the pic) is tjun tjun but i don't know who his partner is and i also don't know who the chinese pair are. can anyone help?
Hey, i have the videos of this friendly series between china and indonesia. I think the partner of Tjun Tjun is Ade Chandra.... The chinese players, i'm not so sure of....
Chinese pair , at back is Yao Xi Ming, in front Sun Zhi An. Guess why I know? To Zhi, what else of the 1980 friendly do you have ?
What you converted was a copy of a copy . The best part is the classic betweeen Liem Swie King and Han Jian. the LSK vs Misbun match was also a classic similar to the 1996 Thomas Cup match between Poul Erik and Dong Jiong.
cool pictures.. retro man.. i dont know if anyone still wears like what they wear and with that kind of hairstyle..
copy of a copy? that would explain why the tape seemed quite damaged and my time base corrector couldn't fix the timing. i was getting worried that my tbc wasn't working bbn, do you have any other videos you want to swap? i'll be visiting singapore for a few days in november so i can bring some svcds/dvds. pm me if you want any.
- Isn't it a small miracle that a tape 23 years old can still be played ? The tapes of people I know are damaged beyond repair after 10 yeras. Experts say that tapes can never last more than 15 years. So to those of you with very old tapes, send them to Mini Me to preserve on disc for life, otherwise they will be totally lost in history. even more of a miracle that people could videotape games in 70's, VHS wasn't even available commercially then.
thanks for the hints from mag and zhi. after listening to the commentators over and over again i have managed to learn 3 words in indonesian - "tjun", "ade" and "chandra" hahahahaha the indonesian pair is tjun tjun/ade chandra.
- Just as a matter of interest Mini Mi. do you have the equipment and knowledge to restore mouldy old tapes before converting them ? I am thinking maybe I could finance sth like that.
bbn, i don't use any specialist/professional equipment. just a normal vcr and tv capture card with some very good encoding software. i have a time base corrector so it is possible to capture from old/damaged tapes but the picture will still be poor. some repairs can be done on the captured video but mostly the quality depends on the source. i intend to get a svhs vcr for better playback quality next year but it costs about A$500 and i am currently saving for my overseas trip at the end of this year.
Harlow.... I'm back! Pls rem to inform me when you're coming to Singapore, swijaya has helped me to convert alot of tapes to DVD-R already!
