Not really, AFAIK at some interview Taufik state that Beijing 08 will be his last olympic, bust I think he still want to play for 1 or 2 more year, perhaps chasing All England title, the only major title he havent achieve

Yes... he will do exhibition in Toronto in December.. he does not know who he will be playing. Also he told me that In Februqry in Denmark? the organizer is trying to get LD,LCW,TH and Gade for BIG FOUR..... Also he will be in Phillipine as well

I just returned from Paris French Open and had the privilige of having a press card. Taufik told after the match yesterday that he expects to play for 2 or 3 more years and is highly motivated again to play his best in the time he has left. He was happy to have his family with him in Paris and the highly enthusiastic french crowds chanting " TAUFIK, TAUFIK!" during his matches. He looks hungry again and let's hope we will see some more magic from the Wizard.

small correction I said taufik expected to play 2 or 3 more years, it was 1 or 2 more years. It was Peter Gade who said 2 or 3 more years, sorry about the mix-up. Anyway, I urge anyone who has an opportunity to go and see both taufik and gade live in action if you have the chance before they will leave the game. They look to be in top form and it shows since they will play eachother tomorrow in the french open final.
Taufik will most likely be playing against Hariawan Hariawan for the exhibition game in Toronto Canada.
taufik used to play with briliant, when badminton still used system 15 point, i think he always lost point at first, this system was more easy to taufik.
That's always great to hear that Taufik will play 1 or 2 years more.. I think he can last till he is 30 if he's motivated. I think if he keeps his love for the sport, he'll continue to play so that his children can see him play and win.. If the Danish players can play till 30+ I think asian players should try to follow if their bodies allow them to play... Ciao da mao smashingmark

Gillian Clark just said during live commentary in the final that taufik said to her that one of the reasons he is playing so well again is because does not feel the pressure of olympic title holder anymore. He has refound the freedom to play again.......my does it show, poor gade...
He has done and won everything there is to win.. ..with all the major titles, with the exception of the All England. I would guess he will try to accomplish the feat of finally winning the elusive AE title in the next 1-2 yrs.
