i play for the fun, work out, and get better as much as i can. as to playing to be a pro for me, impossible.
Originally I played to catch up with friends. These days I play to improve, because higher quality games are more fun and satisfying. If I get to meet any nice girls thats a bonus xD
Around my area badminton is considered to be a regular sport, cause in gym class you always have at least somebody who whips everybody and reminds them that badminton isn't a sport for sissies. So yeah, its not a stupid thing around where I live.
I play to Eat. and I Eat to Play. but i wish, someday, i wish to represent my country. i wanted to be a Pro. I love Badminton because I love Badminton!
First, I play for exercise to get sweat. But after playing with more friends (some play very very well), so I love to practice by having some Badminton coaches help me improve my Badminton skill. Although I cannot be a PRO in Badminton, but it's my favorite sport after working time.
At first it was only for fun. Then it became for health reason and to become a better player. End objective is to be at least as good as a professional player. Even only in DREAMS.
lol. I have met girls by playing badminton and by also doing martial arts, I protect myself from the lads I do the same, I like to think that eventually I'll go pro, but if not, be able to play at a really high level. Still, it's nice to play a recreational game from time to time.
What? What a great question. Unfortunately, I would like to suggest something for the original poster and admins. Can we add a poll to this post?? For me, I play for fun. I used to try to play for competition (sorry there are very few pros in the U.S. so I figured why bother.). But since I never developed into a gifted player, I started to take a look at the type of "pro" player I was developing into. And it disgusted me. I started to dabble into playing all of the "games" that elite players must participate in. I made a conscious decision to walk away so that I could enjoy the game and enjoy being playing with my friends. Take care, Toddster
With everything else going around me, playing to be the best I can and as long as I can is what I thrive to do. It's fun to see some of the older folks in their 60-70s still swinging and moving gracefully on court.
