I've read plenty of posts from people your age and lower, and they don't convey their age so blatantly...
well... ive only been playing for 2 years... 2 years ago starting as the worst player in the worst team in the school, now in the top 10 of the school's A team. but compared to everyone in this forum im probably still crap..... didnt realise i was bragging or showing off... so now im just gonna keep quiet............ is it bad for me to have my age known?
can we stop talking about age? a bit sensitive and may cause silly argument. in forum, we just type. not easy or impossible to judge one's skill or technique. some of us do give advice in a serious manner. some of us do give in a joking manner. some just post to have interaction. one just learn or absorb the good advice that you think it is usable.
Explosive strings Hi, wow! Further below than beginners? How to rank them in our ranking system, men? Lee
Oldhand is giving us some thinking to do ...... ok, badminton beginner - people that start to learn to play badminton as for, below beginner - people that not even know what is badminton cross my fingers, hope i am correct at this
have you tried shouting while you hit? supposedly give you an extra boost of energy and will could also scare your opponents
when i was playing doubles with my friend few days ago,he hit the shuttle where it was considered 'out' but then he shouted 'in' so loudly and our opponent thought it was really and hit back.lol
geeze i hope it wasnt a last sec hit, those always seem to get slapped right back into some ones face.
I did try that once but didn't succeed in anything apart from making people on the other courts look at me like I was crazy. Certainly not the desired effect. I guess that if you had an opponent who really wasn't expecting it, it may work. Shouting definitely helps improve your power though.
Indeed it does, I have to agree with that. Shouting helps me concentrate on the game. I usually play C-grade club games, but I attended another club and put myself in B-grade for fun.. .. suprisingly, I ended up playing against some lower-A-grades and B-grades and still managed to match up to them; probably because I was totally concentrated on the game since I was shouting every now and then. I didn't even have time to think, I just reacted to the shuttle, the opponent and my partners. Gotta try that again at my usual club to see if I still perform as well .. I guess we don't need 'explosive' strings, we just need to be 'explosive' ourselves. Ever tried playing against Borris Ma or Samuel Ho or Jeff Tho ?
what's with everyone and loud smashes....if anything...the quieter a smash can be the better...that way ur opponent will have trouble differentiating between slices and smashes...go youtube...taufik's 305km smash...it sounds more like a slice than a smash....
I think this shouting thing may have real science behind it. It ups your aggression and probably release more adrenaline which increases your speed, strength etc etc Ok, I am going to shout everytime from now !
wow jhirata, i concur as well. i don't think a slice can make such a sound....... now, the important question, why did it sound like a whip?
