Are they really the same length? I used to have a VH1300 and it was considerably longer than all my other rackets, especially the AMP 90...can it be that the rackets I got were just made differently?

DinkAlot, did you make a mistake here? I am looking at the picture of a AMP88 on the apacscanada.com website and it seems that there are those 4 curved grommets near the t-joint of the racquet? Just want to confirm.

    Thanks!

AMP 88 has 2-pairs (4 pieces) of U-grommets, thats all. While, AMP 90 & 95 have Muscle Power 'curve/convex" surface all round the head frame, including the U-grommets. Muscle Power tends to withheld tension longer, better & reduce string wear, air-resistance is a bit weak thus swing speed wouldnt be that fast.

What Avatar described were correct about balance& shaft feeling. Thanks !

thanks! hehehe, i thought U-grommets and MP grommets were the same!
so i take it that the amp88 has a marginally faster swing speed than the other two? and MP grommets only provide better tension retention and string durabiltiy?

I was wondering the same thing! If he does change to VH1800... then someone's prediction came true.

Well, I'm using it for now, I still carrry 4 or 5 AMP95s in my bag. I used it when Vining Wolff came here to play. It played very well. It's a bit less demanding, a bit lighter and a bit less stiff than the AMP95.

Assuming similar weight ~88g, yes, the VH1800 is about 3-5mm more head heavy than the AMP90. The 1800 is also about 2-3mm more head heavy than the AMP95.

However, the 95 is 1-2g heavier in mass and not as aerodynamic so overall so it feels and swings a bit heavier than the 1800.

In conclusion, the swing weight among the 90, 95 and 1800 are comparable, not a big difference.

What's an APACs racquet that is good in single for all-round performance? Also, what is the equivalent grip size of a Yonex G3 in terms of APACs? Furthermore, can I choose the weight of the racquet when I make an online purchase?

Different topic, is there any store carrying APACs racquets? I would like to see them in-person.

With string, one overgrip under an APACS Super PU grip, it's 285mm.

Just bought an AMP90 (strung with BG66 @ 25 lbs, replaced the original grip with a Karakal Super PU). Tried it last week and love it.

Also bought an Apacs Tantrum Shot 858 (strung with BG66 @ 25 lbs, overgrip with a Karakal Point 75) as a backup. Pretty well-balanced and cheap at RM12x.

Both are keepers. Just sold off my AMP88.
