Wang Yihan had better use more of her brains, like what Chen YK did just now.

Porntip who played so well last year still haven't found her form this year, it seems.

Wang Yihan struggling. Sindhu is always particularly motivated when facing her, a thorn in the flesh for Yihan.

At long last, WYH scraped thru 26-24 in G1. Stay alert, keep focused, no time to relax. JiaYou, Wang Yihan !

A nuanced reply to a subtle question, so witty, both of them (I can't help smiling to myself).

Unfortunate for this 18 year old youngster.. She seems to have given up in the second set after losing the first set with 24-26

WYH, concentrate on your tactics, don't play the opponent.

Aiyoo how did WYH win ...

    Thought she was going downhill...
Never rated her or Han Li, youngsters need to rise to back up LXR and WSX.

So there was nothing happened at 12-13 but something did happen at 12-12. The Chinese was up 12-11 but the line judge called ZN's shot wide so the score leveled at 12-12. The Chinese didn't like the call (I thought it was in, but you can't really tell anything for sure with this camera angle) so they protested. I'm wondering why they didn't challenge it if they though it was in. Maybe they have used up all their challenges.

All of the Japanese who are playing on court are in trouble right now. Tago and Kakiiwa/Maeda lost the 1st game while Hirose is trailing 7-16.

I'm keeping my eyes on Sun Yu, in eager anticipation of her impending rise. Han Li, at 27 years old, the best I can hope for her is to be like her mentor Zhang Ning, a late bloomer. Liu Xin, another prospect but her recent comeback hasn't been very impressive, by CHN's standards. Yao Xue whose style of play wins my approval, except for her defensive skill, is too inconsistent and unpredictable. Among the younger juniors, I'm waiting for He Bingjiao but with so many teammates already in the queue, she'll have to bide her time.

In China the day you are born you are one year old because Chinese take into account the 10 months you were in your mum's womb. In some countries you are still 18 even if you are 3 weeks short of 19.
