Top two seeds CHN and KOR advance to semifinal, won over MAS and TPE respectively with 3-0.
Uber Cup runner-up JPN leads 2-0 against INA while IND v THA should be the closest QF match, 2-1 for Indian team so far.

JPN ladies through to semifinal, def. INA 3-0 and will face CHN, rematch of Uber Cup final.

    WS1, Minatsu Mitani def. Lindaweni Fanetri, 19-21 / 23-21 / 21-12
    WD1, Matsutomo/Takahashi def. Maheswari/Polii, 21-14 / 18-21 / 21-19
    WS2, Sayaka Takahashi def. Bellaetrix Manuputty, 21-18 / 21-14

The first two matches were really close, good fighting by INA players to face the persistent Japanese shuttlers.

IND v THA tie is going down to wire, 2-2. WD2 will be the deciding match, Ponnappa/Sindhu v Sapsiree/Saralee.

India's women's team through to the semifinals.. another history .... congrats .... They will be meeting korea in the semifinals..

    They have beaten Thailand 3-2.

I was wondering about the situation of doubles. They don't even have a proper doubles players but sindhu combined together with aswini to win against proper doubles pair from thailand. Wonderful. Good going girls...

No.. I didn't watch it. Followed scores only. But I heard in an interview of aswini saying that she want sindhu as her partner instead of pradnya gadre(original doubles player).

I think sindhu's attacking display proved here as well. They won the WD in straight games against a proper doubles pair. Wonderful. I wish to watch the recorded match if possible .. I hope that somebody will upload it.

That WD result is too surprising! Frankly, I came here to see by how much margin sindhu/ashwini have lost! Great going IND women team!

Should Sayaka play 1st vs. LXR? Sayaka has not been able to beat WSX at all (0 - 3 H2H).

There is no point of chattering about whom should Jpn send as WS1 as none of them can defeat LXR moreover if ST fielded as WS1 than AY can't def WSX..it can go to decider but WSX is a class above akane...
And then WS3 (if needed) has no chance against WYH

I think its well said by Ashwini..
Even jwala has many disadvantages because of her fitness...as well she is not versatile...
Trying ashwinivand PV together for a tournament will do no harm..and it will be interesting too...

Everybody is beatable on his/her bad day. The chinese are not an exception. Carolina defeating LXR is the recent example. Jap men team defeating the invincible CHN in thomas cup.
