Especially considering it's his home ground, I'd like to see Hafiz take his third title of the year at this tournament. I remember at the last WC, hopes were high since he'd had so much luck at that Birmingham Stadium, pulling off surprise wins at the Commonwealth Games in 2002 and the All England in 2003 but he exited the WC early. This year, he has done more than rely on flukes. He has proven himself to be a real power. Having said that, he has yet to prove himself against the top Chinese players, today's rout of Xia Xuanze notwithstanding. I like seeing Hafiz do well, although normally I cheer for the little guys, literally. So if, as others, have wished, Lee Chong Wei (at 172cm according to the Athens website) were to defend his title, that would please me just fine, too.
