    Re: Xia out!

Can history repeat itself? When Sun Jun won the World Champion in 1999, injuries has hurted him so much that his ranking has dropped dramatically. People wondered whether he'll even make the Olympics.

Now another former teamate of Sun Jun has won the World Champion. Injuries are affected his performance dramatically once again. , Let's hope that Xia will do a better job than Sun in the post WC Injury recovery process.

    A new low for Malaysia

I recall the last time no Malaysia player in round 2-3 of the 2-star tournament event was no player was sent to that tournament. This is a new low for Malaysia badminton and even the more consistent player like Choon Hann picked an easy way out to avoid Lin Dan. As for the defeat of Choong/Lee to Ha/Kim, what else can I say? I still don't see why coach Yap think Lee/Choong can beat any top pair in the world as they don't seem to get along and not much determination to make thing works at all.
Malaysia tak boleh, I have to say .... so dissapointed(tears pouring down from my eyes)

Kaldau only dane left in MS

Boesen, Gade and Person went out today...Gade had a very strange match against Lee losing the first set 15-10 winning the next 15-5 and then losing 15-0 in third!! Both Bao and Lin Dan made it to the quarter finals winning their third round in 3 sets.

    GO Kaldau :D

    Gade lost again!? :(

15-0, perhaps an injury? may be he tried too hard in the 2nd set and ran out?

Lin seems to be the most consistent so far in these tournament.

as for Malaysia, these guys have been playing many many tourneys, probably are quite tired by now.

Im also afraid of that Gade got an injury :(. I cant renember him being defeated 15-0 in a set. But one time has to be the first, lets just hope that it isnt a injury.

Go Lin and Bao for MS!
Also, this Jang Young Soo character from Korea is making quite a name for himself in these past few tourneys, with him having to always fight through qualifiers first. Maybe he will be Korea's next big thing in MS, as Park hasn't show too much consistency?

I'm dissapointed that Chinese MD is back to its usual low again, occupying only 1/8 of quarterfinal spots. Hopefully Cai/Fu can at lest make semis. Luckily, they are up against a relatively unknown Polish pair.

Logosz & Mateusiak are well known in Europe, a very consistent pair...

I think they were world #7 at one moment...

Re: A new low for Malaysia

I can see ur point, and myself a little bit disappointed to see "no match" for some so-call "future stars". However, there still several bright spots (hopefully):

    1. Even though, this is just a 2* tourny, but we can see many players are from the Den Open (5*). Therefore, the quality of the tourny is surely boosted up.

    2. Besides Wong CH, Ma's does have a problem with its players. The main problem to me, is their youngsters can't perform in a consistent lvl. However, it's a common problem for young stars, look Lin Dan and Bao CL's past yr compare to now, maybe we should give them a little bit time.

Kim/Ra is invincible! even though they are playing the more defensive ChenQQ/ZhaoTT, but look at the score line, they never had a chance!

Pi vs. Xie : that's a close one.

i haven't seen the match, but here is my guess having seen Chen/Zhao play before.

Chen/Zhao are way too defensive, both of them are very happy to lift the birdie which is a no-no in mixed and especially against Kim/Ra who will just nail everything to the floor.

ZhaoTT takes a very long time to get up to speed and even when she does, she is slower than others. as the lady is the person who set up the rally, they are at another disadvantage there.
