It's about time we have another good singles player. His performance in the Sudirman/Thomas Cup was pretty impressive methinks.
Let's hope his win in the Belgian open is the beginning of many

after Lee Zii Jia, hope this "mushroom head" guy can make himself to be world beater, and also hope he can make it into world top 10 ranking by end of this year 2022...

His girlfriend is the perfect balance for him.

Considering he had recently recovered from covid, I thought he played very well in the Asia Team Championships

Will see how he does against China's new lefty Weng Hong Yang shortly. Seems from WHY's shots, he has very powerful and fast wrist. I like both of these players.

WHY definitely the stronger and faster athlete in the match. NTY's movements and footwork is too slow and sluggish, compared to the next gen players.

You are right. He doesn't looked like a player his opponent would be "afraid" of. He lacks that positive aura.

Yes, I think NTY game relies too much on the slow rally. It feels like he is playing International Challenge-quality game. The coach really needs to make him go faster and more initiative-taking.

Great experience for Ng Tze Yong to take the crucial MS.

    The quiet destroyer.

I only caught the match at the 3rd game with the score 13 all or something. It was tense if you were an Indian fan. Well, Malaysian fan too.

I couldn't identify what's Tze Yong's forte or qualities that are better than other players. Stability in shot quality perhaps, hope someone could point out for me.
I'm happy that Malaysia young players are rising to the occasion, just hope that they don't start to 'float'.

Good performance by Ng Tze Yong! I was impressed with how much he has improved himself since the start of the year.
One thing that I want to comment is he should not use the cross clear so often. It's easily readible.

That's the thing - NTY isn't a very flashy player. He doesn't have the raw explosiveness and coverage like VA or LZJ or speed like LCW, but he is quite consistent in his shot quality and doesn't make many errors. Like Cheung said, a 'quiet destroyer'. I have to admit that I wasn't impressed in the few times I saw him, but his play is starting to grow on me.

At the moment, while I still wouldn't rate him anywhere close to the top 10 until he develops a weapon or two, I have to give credit where credit is due. I thought he played a very patient and mature game against Srikanth, very much unlike his contemporaries. Congratulations to him! Hope that he capitalizes fully on the chance LZJ gives him to continue to develop his confidence and game.

Hopefully he won't be another Cheam June Wei (who beat JC during a team event and then faded into oblivion after that).

Great minds think alike. lol ;)

I think he must have read this forum and copy me. lol. Must charge him for copyright. Need kopi money.

I think this nty win is just to show that he is improving. But if you analyze the game, Its Srikanth fault for making more errors. NTY just get the shots in. Also SK is 29yo and not young anymore. Going down hill with stamina, this causes him not to be able to concentrate well and thus making more mistakes.

Bad decision from BA of India from my perspective. They shd have played Sen which I am sure will beat NTY on that day. Sen was full of confidence after whipping LKY. ;)

With the score tied at 13 all in the 3rd game, any decent coach or top calibre player will know NTY will win.

    SK already out of gas.
