It is such an obvious mistake. Why constrain Badminton to someone else's hand of hell? If it can be corrected and improved, why not? We just live with it and move on and keep on accepting such mistakes?
Well, at least we can try (if we can try hehehe...). The same case with Ireland FA lodged a formal complaint to FIFA. having said that we should not compare football and badminton, these two are different animals.
It is hard to tell whether the point is in from right at the other side of the court, in my opinion. Umpire didn't warn who? The players? Why should he warn them?
If it was you, and you looked at your prize-purse...and then looked at the guys' next to you....and then the blind arse spastic line judge that just cost you ten grand....you'd be bleating a w-h-o-l-e other tune.
line call was bad.. but things like that inevitably happens in tournaments, even in bigass ones like all england on another point I would like to applaud kenichi tago's sportsmanlike behavior.. he didn't like the line call but still applauded (with his racket).. good to see a rising star in a huge tournament, goodluck to him for the future. he's only 20, and he's got a long way to go
First of all, I felt sorry for LCW for winning his first AE title in this manner and it's just unfortunate for Tago. But frankly, it's very hard to tell whether the shuttle was out from the naked eyes from the way the shuttle dropped.
This can be debated forever. Unfortunately, some people believe that Tago would win the second game if the point was called out, even if it was 20-20
Learn to read, that's not even close to what I said. Well, last time I looked games were decided.....during the game.....and seeing the game was ended prematurely because of a sh!t line-call, we'll never know. I'd just like to see Badminton enter the 21st Century. Is that too much to ask? There's been sooooo many sh!t line-calls recently, this incident is really just the precipice of what needs to be the tipping point [but won't be because the Japanese are too polite, and nobody wants to lose face and admit that the system is sh!t].
Of course he has the chance, but it can be debated forever. Would KT win? Would LCW win? I'm certainly not going to debate on who would win, because a conclusion would never be reached.
AE final is already more than 2 weeks, Swiss Open concluded... AJC is playing now...move on shall we???
LCW would still win LCW , would still win the game, no matter what happened on that day.... why .. because it was his fate. He was meant to win on that day. Either with the bad line call or not … he would still win it ….
Bleating? That's exactly what you said. Maybe you should read your own words, too. You could do much more than just swear vigorously at the system.
Frankly, it would be much more useful if the snapshot was taken with the shuttle nearer to the floor. It's somewhere in BC already, but if an animated gif is available, it would be even better.
Hopefully this incident will lead to the introduction of a "challenge" system like that now found in tennis. IMO there is no reason not to have such a system - it can only do good, and it's very easy to get the correct call from the replay, especially if some high frame-rate cameras are installed, so there is no need for a "Cyclops"-type device. By the way, this wasn't the worst line-call I saw this year (though it was by far the most decisive): there was one during the Robertson/Wallwork XD match that was laughably far out.
I'm not asking you to read, but to understand. The point I was illustrating, is that if he was the one relying on a couple of dudes watching shuttles travelling at 200kph for his livelihood, and it was negatively impacting on that, he'd probably change his "don't get all emo, man" attitude. And yeah, if I was in KT's shoes, I'd be calling for change. **** yeah I would. Would you, or would you sit there like a patsy?
