hahaha, well, Lee CW should be able to beat Roslin even Misbun gave tips to Roslin, if what you said is the deciding factor, then no malaysian Chinese player can beat Roslin or Hafiz, but this is not the case in reality.

Yeah, I agree they have uphand against Kim/Ha, even Kim did not play MX, the weaker one of the two--Ha is barely recovered recently. The other Korean WD is much weaker than Ra/Lee, Yang/Zhang should win it easily.
Who will they play in the final?? How do you rate the odds in the other semifinal between HA/Kim and Lee/Yoo?? I think 80/20 to Ha&Kim!! JR

OMG! I WCH and Roslin lost their matches. But this is the kind of performances that we expect from this batch of Malaysian players. Their experience does not count for anything at all. One would have thought that "hey.. they have been around for ages.. they have the edge.. " but nooo.. they had to go and lose it and show that they rely on luck more than anything to win. I do agree with some of the other forumers abt Roslin and Lee Chong Wei. Roslin needs the points to get into the olympics.. mmm *fishy fishy*
nice to have JR join us! i just crawl out of bed. and wow. Chen Yu vs. Lin Dan... i think it is nice as they are less often seen faces in the final. i haven't really seen Chen Yu play, but Lin Dan has a really nice and explosive style, i bet they will play full out in the final and that should be excellent to watch.. as for WS/WD... well... no comment. except that perhaps Camilla is getting to the end of her peak, if she can't beat the Chinese at home, she will have much less chance in other places. this Danish Open is probably one of the strongest turnout from the top players. and it looks like Korea and China are very well prepared for the next olympics...
after all these years, Lee/Yoo still have very little answer to Ha/Kim's furious attack. they lost by 15-1 / 15-11
Seen both of them play (against different opponent) at the last S'pore Open. Chen Yu is the more aggresive attacking style compared to Lin Dan. He's the man to win.

Given Xia's injury suffered at S'Pore and recent lack of form, Chen Hong's new injury (who knows how long he'll be out), and Bao's lack of form, perhaps Chen Yu and Lin Dan are really going to try and garner some important points in this and German Open, which will surely help their total count in Olympic qualification points. Once again China proves their MS is so strong that really any of top 6 MS players can win a major GP. We don't even have to discuss WS and WD. Who's everybody cheering for, Lin or Chen? For me, since Chen hasn't won a GP (I think) before, I'll be rooting for him. Final medal count: China-3, Korea-1, Indonesia-1. Hope this turns out to be true!
Chinsese Players According to what I heard, within the matches inside Chinese team, Chen Yu has the best overal records against his teammates in trainning. Chen Hong is the second best. Bao Chunlai is the 3rd, while Lin Dan just the 4th, and Xia Xuanze is the last. But once playing at international opens, things could be very different. Chen Yu is very sharp, very fast and very powerful at attacking. Once he knows your style, you probably could not resist his attack. But he cannot read you correct, he will be in trouble. So in order to defeat Chen Yu, you'd better avoid playing with him or changing your style often. Then he will be confused himself. Everyone knows Chen Hong is the undisputable world number 1. His problem is his foot work which looks really awkward and clumsy. Bao CL is good at almost everything. His problem is his mental toughness. My impression is that he is still like a kid, his IQ and EQ still stay at teenager's level. Lin Dan and Xia Xuanze both have very high fighting spirits. But they really don't have much heavy weapons. Lin Dan's net play got improved recently. Xia's good at unexpected sudden smash. But these skills are very useful at international tournaments because two sides didn't play each other often. But when two parties know each other longer, these tricks will not be that useful. Hendrawan was very good at tricks, and they worked most times to non-indonesia players. But when Hendrawan played with his teammates, for example, even Rony, his tricks did work anymore. That's the reason I am still surprised that Hendrawan got a World Champion finally. So in the MS final, Lin will try to confuse Chen at first, but once Chen can load his attack, Chen will win.
Re: Chinsese Players You have got to be kidding about Chen Hong's footwork! I've never regarded him as having awkward and clumsy footwork. Agree about Bao though, perhaps his time will be a couple of years later, much like Chen Hong previously.

i think ChenH's footwork is not smooth like Susi or GongZC's. perhaps so much strength in his legs gives the sense of awkwardness. however, i wouldn't describe it as awkward either, just not silky smooth. one thing to point out is that his footwork is very standard and to the book.
to me, a more fitting word may be mechanical. i still like Xia's better, more style and smoothness, though not as standard.
True. I used awkward and clumsy just to reflect the high requirment as the world number 1, not by student level. Awkwardness and clumsiness are the impression comparing to the best footwork of the best players other than Chen Hong, not comparing to us, not even to hundreds of mediocre players, but comparing to the most beautiful, elegant footwork I saw, or may just in my mind it should be.
