England only has one hope of gold left for the tournament-the MD final in Badminton. If they lose it and Saina wins her match, they will be knocked to third position. Commentrator is getting embarassed about this probable situation.

KKK/TBH won it in two: 21-19; 21-14. Congratulations to Koo Kien Keat to become the only 2nd person who is a triple gold medallist for badminton in the Commonwealth Games!

With that, Malaysia has met their 4-gold target and took 4 out of 6 golds available, I must say it is an achievement and a bonus as well.

I think MAL has already wrapped MD match as well. Congrats to them. More Gold for the strongest Badminton team in tournament.

it's all over in the men's doubles badminton final and it's double heartbreak for Nathan Robertson, who is once again on the wrong end of a Malaysia beating following a 21-19 21-14 defeat by Koo Kien Keat and Tan Boon Heong. Robertson adds a second silver to his 2010 collection alongside partner Anthony Clark - from the bbc sport site

Malaysia are like in between the powerhouses and the improving nations, they have not won OG or WC yet and are still behind the powerhouses in that aspect but they are still the targets to beat among improving nations such as India, Chinese Taipei... etc.

This last WS gold medal has huge implications on the final medal table:

IND wins and they finish 2nd overall ahead of ENG

MAS wins and they finish 5th overall (a bit of a shock), jumping South Africa and Kenya in the process

MAS wins and AUS will have won twice as many golds as the second placed country

Whether IND wins gold or silver, they end up with 100 medals

It has been all straight games so far, and not much drama. We need a rubber game in the last match.
