Do I keep playing over the summer? I wish. I would if it wasn't for the stupid city strike!:(

Bussing it from downtown to Richmond seriously sucks! I did manage to get a ride to Yumo a couple of weeks ago, so hurray for that.

I play over summer, the clubs are open for like the whole year, except for the Christmas holidays. But when the clubs here are closed for summer, I'm in Japan and it's winter :D. But I can't play well in Japan, it's so hard to get used to the conditions of the courts there. Courts with many different lines, etc.. I can't quite tell where the outlines are either.. maybe the courts I play at in NewZealand are too good. The temperature is also hard to get used to.. my hands get all cold on the way to the courts in Japan and they feel numb and seems like they've expanded or something.. very annoying..

unfortunately, a lot of clubs that are run on (high school) rentals are closed during the summer, here in GTA. except for the exclusive clubs. however lucky the club i am playing at continues to rent the high school gym for the summer. good stuff. and plus im taking summer school and so that university is opening their REC hours for badminton for 3hrs. which is great and it's free.

I haven't decided if I will continue to play through Summer.

As I am still trying to build strength after surgery last August on my right knee.

I plan on lifting weights, to build more explosive strength. Riding and swimming to build strength and cardio.

I want to start the pre season next year fitter, faster and stronger and don't beleive that playing all year long may improve your game.

I do keep playing over the summer. In fact, I think I play more throughout the summer because I am still a student and during the summer I have more free time to dedicate to badminton.

Is badminton a winter sport? Why wouldn't you play through the summer? Playing through the winter is pretty bad I think ... so cold =X It hurts so much more when the shuttle hits you, especially your fingers =S

    i cant play. :crying:
they almost close the halls for 6 weeks - only one week you can play 3 times but i guess is overcrowded then.

i dont know what to do besides jogging swimming or weightlifting (maybe shadow play in the nature...) and then very shortly after this big break the new league season sta:eek:rts.

Tennis and badminton are quite different. Don't try to use the wrist in tennis too much or you might injure yourself.
