Last nite during doubles game I accidentally smash on my privateparts. Does any of you ever had that happen? It happened when I smash not using my wrist. What is the correct way to smash and how to avoid it?

I saw this earlier and I think it was deleted.

The solution to this problem is like saying "I keep walking on my feet when I try to walk down the road, how do I stop this?"

If hitting yourself in the crotch is rampant, it's time to find another sport

"find another sport" might be a bit....crude...

I would suggest you get a coach, and work on your technique ;)
Just by guess, you might want to rotate your torso/hips/legs more. Or shorten your follow through.

I used to hit my left knee when I was ~9-10... But pain is a very effective teaching aid ;)

I apologize for my crudeness, I meant it to be a little sarcastic as well. I just found the question to be almost like someone hitting themselves in the head with a baseball bat while swinging. It seems almost impossible to physically hit yourself in the groin with the racket...

I have hit myself in the knee a few times, my suggestion would be:

    - calm down a little when you smash, you are probably over-exerting
    - make sure not to curl the racket in too far afterward, it would seem to me that the problem would come from TOO MUCH wrist, not not enough
    - make sure your arm is fully extended when you smash, the follow through with the extended arm should bring the racket head at least down to the knee level, completely avoiding what is happening

Instead of swinging down the middle swing racket more to the side.

i had a friend who did this before a few times and he hit himself really hard once when he jump smashed he fell straight to the floor. its basically your swing, when you swing right now and after you have hit your shot your follow through is lined up right in the center of your body so you well can yourself. what you want to do is with your follow through after you have hit the shuttle you want to bring it more to the outside of your body so if your right handed you want your racquet to go past the left side of your body on your follow through. hope that makes sense and hope you dont hit yourself again that can be good, lets hope no damage has been done.

apply a better grip. I sometimes lost control of my racket, (sweat etc. )and hit my leg. Most of the time it's because the racket slipped.

Hit yourself in the same spot even more times. Eventually your body will adapt through negative reinforcement, and the hilarity of onlookers.

How to avoid hitting yr private part.

    Hi guys,
I remembered when I was playing with a group of baddies at Toa Payoh, one of my friend accidentally smashed the birdy n then hit his own private part. Well, he immediately squated down n felt an excruciating pain. using his both hands and clutch his "parts".
I think to avoid smashing one's private part, u got to slant yr body posture slightly to yr left when u smash. This will keep the racket projectory from crashing into the pp path.:p Alternatively, u can wear a tae-kwon-do private part guard.;)

Before smashing, the left leg (non-racket side) should be forward.
During smashing you should bring the right leg (racket side) forward.
Racket hand follow thru from top right and cross your center front, and end downward the outer left side of your body.
This is the basic but there are other more refine movements that you have to learn after you perfect this shot. At the moment end the swing or your racket to your left side and not into the center of your body. Hope this helps.
Note: this is for right hander player.

I use my wrist to smash most of the time. However if the opponent defence well, I get frustrated and tend to swing my arm in order to generate a harder smash. And that is how it happens sometimes:crying:...Now I think I need to work on the right technique...

try rotating your shoulder when hitting too, not just using your arms. that way with the follow through your shoulder-arm position should be naturally to your side.
