Hey all! I need to get a new racket, not that my old one has disintegrated or anything. Anyway, I went to look around today and the shopkeeper told me to get either a MusclePower or Nanospeed. Apparently Armotec is too heavy for girls? I would like to get a Yonex racket, Budget = around 300SGD. Any recommendations peeps? Your help is greatly appreciated.
Girls can also play with Armortec rackets as well. What is your currently racket? Have you considered other companies because you can get 2-3 rackets instead of 1 yonex racket.
Haha, then that shopkeeper dude cheat me! He said he haven't seen any girls with the Armortec! Currently, my racket is Speed? I haven't seen it outside in badminton shops. But well, my coach got that for me, since he has his own shop. Anyway, nah. I just want one Yonex badminton!
the shopkeeper, he must be still dreaming. At900T is one of the most favourite racket for Chn Women Team........ ok, back to your shopping inquiry. before we all jump into conclusion which model is the best suit for you, maybe you are able to provide more infos to us. what is your play style? prefer head heavy or headlite? mostly play single or double?
Girls can play with Armortec. My friend : 900T w/NBG 95 @25# Me : 900T and 900P w/NBG95 @ 25# Our styles : WD or XD (front & back format) Smashers and dinkers Love our rackets. Both are very maneuverable and great for fast smashes, and touch shots. You have to work on the wrist speed for the 900P though. 900T is easy to use and you would not even feel it to be head heavy.
i dont buy into that "it's too headheavy/light" the racket weights like what? 20 lbs? No, it's less than a pound. Master your self, master your racket.
Get the Yonex ArcSaber 7 That's a wonderful piece of work. To see how effectively it can be used, watch Gao Ling or Hwang Hye-Youn wield it To see how powerful girls can be with the AT-900T, watch the formidable Du and Yu, China's WD team
I would have recommended the carlton powerblade 9500 nanolite or the Victor Superwave 33 control but since you only want Yonex, you can consider the AT900-T, Arc Saber 7/10 or Nanospeed 9000 S. All these racquet can be found for less than S$300 and I assume you wanted to maximize your budget hence the list are all the top of their respective range.
Welcome to BC, pookypie. First lesson you should learn is "Don't listen to a Salesperson", especially the ONE who told you about the Armotec. Since there are already so many different Yonex rackets suggested by our kind BCers, you might as well note down the models and go to a racket shop to have a look yourself. Buy the one you like most, ie color and design wise. Happy shopping.
Hahahaha i was about to suggest that, buy the one you think looks best which would probably be the Arc10 unless you don't like red... I had some girls try my Arc10 and liked it, but then again they also liked the AT900T, MP88/100, so i suggested they get one based on the looks if they can't feel the difference
I play Singles more often nowadays, but sometimes my coach would make my play Doubles? Anyway, this is the first time I'm gonna try to buy a racket myself. HAHA. Most of the time, my coach would just pick out a racket for me! So this time, I wanna be independant and choose my own racket. Alright, thanks for the advice so far peeps! But how do I know which racket suits me most? Other than, well, looking at the design and colour! Normally, I just look at the price! The more expensive it is = The better it is! (This is based on my senseless judgement) Thanks y'all!
Well you won't know which suits you most until you've actually tried most racquets yourself. Generally girls won't swing as hard as guys so a slightly more flexible racquet would give you more power on smashes. But that doesn't really matter unless you can flex it considerably. The balance of the racquet is your own preferance, normally even balanced racquets are the most natural to get used to, head heavy will generate power easier, and head light will swing a little faster. The Arc7/10 are even balanced racquets, and newest, and probably the most expensive ones you can buy for now. So it suits your choice
Well must it be a yonex racket ? I think even the most flexible yonex racket still have some sort of stiffness to it ? what other brand can you find in singapore ? such as Gosen , APACS ( Cheap carbon(without all the titanum) copy of yonex ) . I hear ton's of good thing about SOTX such as Woven series(Smash) and LG series(Light) that is great for defence play.
If someone can afford a top end yonex why would you even suggest Apacs? Its like a rich guy can afford a ferrari but you tell him a toyota is the same...
toyota also got lexus ma rich but don't know how drive the ferrari also useless why not just learn how to drive the toyota .. beat it to hell ... then get a better later on when you master it
What's wrong wit a Toyota? Seriously, many rich folks who do not need the thrill bought toyota's. If I am really need to save time, I will buy an LS600 and hire a chauffeur with the remaining money. Same thing goes for rackets. I'd rather buy a cheaper racket that suits my needs (having budget simply means not needing to compromise where it counts) and spend the rest on other stuff (like good shoes, strings, grips, etc). I can also buy books/DVD. I could buy 2 rackets and have them configured differently so that it suits my playing mood for that day. Remember that the objective is to improve my game.
There is no point buying a racket double the cost if it performs the same. SOTX is probably the best example.
