    Jagoan!

"Maria main kayak jagoan!" ~Maria played like an expert master!~ was the general sentiment around town this week... We INA fans all know she's not the best badminton player in the world. But we are proud of the best one we got [at this time]... :p

Yeah, only one more step ahead....

Just hope she is having enough sleep tonight (scared if she celebrates too much her win over Zhang Ning :D).

    Go further, Maria!!!
    Congrats.

Well done Kristin. Saw her match against ZN. Feel sad for ZN.. just the wrong strategy. But i admire Kristin for her never give up attitude.

    Congrats Maria!!

Hope you continue to improve and be a force to be reckoned with.
I will be there supporting you together with Saina. We need some young blood to take over the old horses as well as from new countries to step up to the plate.

    Jason.

I think her emotional is better after TUC. Usually she's done when she left the points. Today, She wont give up!! Still focus to controlled the cock. No significant mistakes she made it.

Good for Maria that she's finally able to have a breakthrough tournament. I actually prefer Firda's attacking game than Maria's game. But she did play inspiring game throughout the UC and with a boasted confidence, I guess she's able to play better now. I think she peaks at about the right time, just before Olympics. A dangerous floater for sure.

Honestly, as I wrote about the earthquake, I DID NOT, not once, even think about the real earthquake just happened in China (I know about the earthquake in ChengDu). In my mind was kinda "lets shock the chinese girls", nothing else.

So, I think, it is now clear who actually has negative thinking and who actually has provocate thoughts. Just dont have this negative thinking guys, I think it is kinda asian mentality, but in my opinion it is not a good stuff.

Maria's fighting spirit was superb yesterday particularly at critical moment in decider games. I still believe she can perform well today against another Chinese player Zhu Lin. Hopefully her remarkable achievement here will be consistent in next tourneys, the biggest one is Olympic Games!

Agree. Maria said that her chance to beat Zhun Lin is ONLY 40%. How pesimistic she is!! Just be confident girl!!

They were just joking... ;) Of course they all knew you didn't meant the real earthquake... :p Don't worry about it... We know you weren't being offensive at all. Really! :D

I just don't know why you even mention Asian mentality. The first 3 people who commented about your earthquake choice of words were from the United Kingdom and USA... :p

I think this inferiority complex applies not only to the Indonesian girls but to many of their other Asian counterparts in the past as well. Now INA girls have shown that they can be equally as good, if not better, and this augurs well for the future. Non-China women players will now think differently that it is possible to beat the best China women in both singles and doubles if they set their minds to it.

China's domination in the women's department is now cracking and I hope the forth-coming Beijing Olympics will witness more upsets even though China has "home advantage". Coaches of non-China women's team must now instill in their charges that nothing is impossible as what Susi Susanti has etched in the minds of her girls. ;)

I think Tine definitely opened the way for non-CHN female players last year when she won her maiden super series title in Japan. So a lot of credit must go to her. BUt for INA team, definitely the Susi factor ...
