Sorry for any confusion. My question is that with many top end Yonex rackets, once you reach the top you have to thead string through grommets that has been covered or overlapped by one of the mains on the outside of the racket. Everyone clear with the description? How do people get around tis problem without damaging the racket?
do a search on dental floss. good for getting string through shared grommet and lifting up the string covering grommet. Please use the waxed and minty flavor for best effect and smell.
Can you be more specific? Some descriptions perhaps? HOw would I go about it without damaging or scratching the frame?

Using an awl is a very bad idea; the chances are, you will invariably ruin either the string or the grommet or both.
when i first start stringing, i had this problem, but now i don't ned to worry i take it that you string 2 piece then? and you string the mains 15ft of string and tighten, then crosses 15ft of string and tighten, a way to get round this which will never have problem is to pre-string the whole racket 1 piece, you then tension the mains as your normally would, 1 side you will have to tie off at grommet 8. on the other side you tension to the last main, you will end up with a loop at grommet 10 (end of main) which feeds in to grommet 9( start of crosses) if you cut this loop it then becomes 2 piece, ie the main that comes out of grommet 10 has a free end to tie off at grommet 8 and the cross has loose end to tie off at grommet 6. and because you pre strung the whole racket, those annoying grommets at the top of the racket already have the string through the grommets, you just need to tension the crosses as normal. this solution is hassle free and tool free, but you need to learn how to prestring 1 piece and tension with loops not that difficult really. if you want pictures of what i mean by the pre-string 1 piece and then cut to make 2 piece i will try get some the next time i string racket.
dental floss rocks, but only wrap 2-3 times min and max, because it will slip or bend the end and then u got like a big wad of floss and bent string trying to get in, omg when i first got my machine.... haha i had bits of floss sticking out of all the shared grommets. ahahaha
