They will boo Malaysian. We are sworn enemy in badminton :)

Unsportmanship? You don't expect them sitting down quietly yawning, do you?

    Badminton > Soccer in Indonesia.

That's the fun of having such tournament at Istora Senayan.

No worry about how malaysia is doing in semis.

I guess i should reconsider my support to indo players.
This is pathetic. To know my support is worthless.

Booing is part of the sport as long as safety of the players is not threatened. However, I was surprise Indonesian fan actually boo at Malaysian players as Malaysians have been very supportive to our brothers. In a way, Indonesia and Malaysia relationship is more like US and UK, you know "abang-adik".
I guess we are wrong about the relationship. :(

No, i don't expect INA supporters to sit down quietly. But i would rather see them cheering for their own team instead of doing the booing to any visiting (or INA opponent) teams.

So you mean Malaysian should boo back at Indonesian when they play in KL for example? Booing as part of the sports isn't healthy is all I meant.

Not to worry, come Friday afternoon, the Chinese team will feel the full wrath of INA fans. ;)
Unfortunately, some mavericks might boo the MAS team as well...hehe, :p.

or cheer to both teams whoever play well. that's what you would experience if you watch badminton in UK. just read from the other thread that badminton is football in indonesia, well that made sense.

They did. Especially during 1992 Thomas Cup.

That's part of the special treatment that you only can experience either in Indonesia or Malaysia.

I don't think that will happen in any Asian countries, not in Indonesia at least. The thing is this sport is like the national pride so losing the game is like the end of the world!

ehmmm ... off course we support any Team except MAS n CHN

just ask to DEN UC's team how they gain fully support from INA's supporter, and the result MAS lost to DEN

or just ask NIG TC's team, how INA's supporter give fully support when NIG vs CHN

and the latest, in this noon, INA's supporter support team Korea when KOR UC's vs CHN UC's

INA also boooo their player .... it's was happen when Sonny n Taufik lost to Thailand TC's

    Istora mindset...

Ok, for those who don't understand the Istora mindset:

Before the semifinals: any team playing against MAS is the crowd favorite, because, ...you know... all those things that the MAS government did to INA... [I won't elaborate further, possible ban towards me...]

During the semifinals: our crowd will want MAS to win instead of CHN, because MAS is perceived to be the more beatable opponent for INA, so MAS is most probably the crowd favorite... ;) Test my analysis tomorrow! ;)

In the finals: if INA plays against MAS, the stadium will be filled with 120% capacity and surely we know what their sentiments will be... :p IF [and this is a very big IF] MAS plays against KOR in the finals... the stadium will be filled at 5% capacity and almost all of those still watching are probably 90% Malaysians [including ants, samuel, etc.], so... MAS is most probably the crowd favorite again... :p Just not the normal INA crowd... :p
