Baochulai's championship point shots Baochunlai's championship points, previous pitures also shown above: Score is 20 to 13, Bao. with a high net return, Bao catches return with a high whip swipe without a hitch. then he jumps and throw his rackquet into air. I waited the moments to caght on film. Yours to share with, please credit me if you download for other uses. Thanks
Finally no more I have done upload all that I can, still have more shots that can't upload, need to modify before i can upload due to the size limit. This is good enough for a lot of good picures already. What do you think? Give some commons or something. will upload some more if I go to more championship to watch Live. See ya later.
Hey, very good! Have you taken badminton shots before? Very good timing. Such a pity your 1Ds broke down.
Thanks much for sharing the pics.. ..enjoyed looking at the pics, tofu007(Alan)!..They look wonderful, considering you took them from quite a ways in the seating area; i assume you've taken action/sport/badminton pictures before??..Yeah, wished if the pictures came earlier; nevertheless, it's never too late to post and share them here!.. Btw, good to know also what kind of camera, lens and camera settings you used during this tourney
Thanks guys it's my first time experience of shooting championship game, in fact noob in action sport shooting, just got into photography, it's GREAT habbit and felt GREAT when people like your work. Thanks for all your comments and especially Kwun, he granted me membership right so I can upload picutres and made a lot more friends here in BC. I actually know him in person. my facebook/friendster name is Alan Huang or mrtofu007@hotmail.com, search me both, my location/lives in Union City. Please add me as your friend. looking forward to hear from you soon.
Hi Alan, Thanks for your great pics!! You did a very good job and can't imagine it's your first sport photography experience. Good timing and framing. I always can't enjoy the process of competition while taking pics. I had experience in using 30D for badminton, the focus problem is similar to u, ~20% success rate in focus a right moving obj. May be IDs is more accurate in this issue. Besides, I think u know the color temp. of some pics are too warm, and u had adjusted few of them. We has some time to talk about WB at http://www.badmintoncentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=39911 . Take a look if u have time. The pics are much more attractive if WB is correct, I am still learning. Keep up your good work!!! My photos can be found here http://fotop.net/anitachan/anitachan19
wow,you just got into photography, these are your first action shots and they turned out so hot.You must have a natural knack for the camera! Reminded me of Spore's Russel Wong who was given a camera at the age of 18 and discovered it's so easy for him to shoot well,he decided he wanted to be paid for his efforts so he went professional. It's great to know your ardent vocal support for BCL helped him to win.Just one fan's unfailing cheers can make a difference to a player's outcome. So, you might be gifted in photography;pls continue with your interest and don't waste it. The question you haven't answered is this: What's the camera-brand and model? If you can't reveal, then just state whether it's high class or lowly type.
Just off the top of my head. 20D, ISO1600 or 3200, 70-200 f2.8 For first time effort, the shots are really very good.
Thanks achan for your suggestion, I am really happy to see the comments you made. how you come up with WB? gray card? You are right about the attraction of right wb, photos are much more attractive when the wb set correctly. I use to shoot with gray card but just can't do it at the tournament because of the sitting. Please do give some opinion about how you decided on th wb. thanks
I use my backup camera cannon 20D with 70-200L 2.8 for this shooting, my regular camera is Cannon 1Ds (original 1Ds model) and it is quiet not enough for the low light enviroment (only ISO1250) and it had shutter failure when I got to China, plus 20D's 1.6x factor gives me a boost to 320 from 200mm. I post-process my picutres and crop it to the picutre you saw above, it take some time but it does pay off from the work, it more attractive but I wish 20D has better focus movement like 1Ds series. ; but I am very satisfy with the shots it produced. Lens it more important than the body. Thanks for you comment, and I will keep up my work.
Oh, I used the shutter priority mode with 1/500 or 1/800 depends on the action i am plan to catch, combine with ISO of course, smash shots I will use 1/800.
Actually.. ..cooler asked for the same query, on the 1st page (post #7) and Alan already shared the infos in the link..Anyway, it's given again above.. Alan, just out of curiousity, how many pics did you take (how many GB of pics)??..
