Hahah. Well i didnt expect WMC to win... i have to confess that. But i never thought its impossible for her to win. Same goes to Singapore. Everything is Possible. Nothing in Impossible.
and for singapore vs indonesia.i cant decide . singapore-do ur best.singapore is unique, rite?prove it. indonesia-lakukan yang terbaik ya.dedicated the victory to ur president. susilo bambang need some motivation from his supporters.
To be honest, Indonesia has such a well-balanced men's team which is peaking at about the right time, only perhaps China can beat them now. So Singapore will be happy even to get one point.
koo_fan, this is what you call banter. My little dig had no malice in it, rather a taunt made in humour akin to that we make with our friends. To over-react is to not know the history and close ties of our two neighbours. Since I had to explain it to such lengths, I suppose the humour is lost.
its sensitive for certain persons. im ok with that question.i wont describe it as 'lost' . but just a precaution.we may hurt someone. a lesson for me -i've made a joke with a singaporean friend that they can win nothing without the foreigners and u know what happen ?i have to coax n pujuk him nicely.then we are friends again.i've learned.
We have to face reality to be practical. Survivor doesn't equate to conquerer. It takes time, effort and commitment to be better than a survivor. Especially in badminton. You know it takes many years of training and sacrifice to become a world class professional. And even those who are talented and are selected for further training, if they are not committed enough and are weak mentally, they will not make it and will drop by the wayside, unfortunately. I think in Singapore, the government has to be practical. Sure we have goals but those goals must be realistic and achievable. So we can't simply try to achieve something more difficult before we attain simpler goals. For the men and women's team to be able to enter the finals, I think we have achieved our goals. It will be a bonus if we can get one gold from badminton in the presence of world badminton power houses like Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand. Even a full-strength Malaysian men's team cannot be assured of a win against mighty Indonesia, do you agree?
'Shameful defeats for our shuttlers' It is sad that the author decided to use this title for his article. What do he expect when the MAS decided to sent their back-up against the top teams......maybe many years ago the MAS second stringers can still beat other team except INA.....
We're not that mighty..INA teams do have good chance to win golds..nevertheless, we must still keep on focus and it's extremely important to keep heads down before the golds are in our hands..Singaporean teams have shown impressive performance so far ..so INA must be aware and not to underestimate them..may the best teams win..I expect that'll be INA teams, both men and women ..INDONESIA BISA, JAYA!!
Agree!! This is typical ala Malaysia Boleh excuses. We always look for excuses i.e officials not fair, weather not right, injuries, etc etc. To say Singapore shuttlers are not born in Singapore is just plain being bitter.
Perhaps MAS shouldn't send their team at the first place Or will it be better just send the World Juniors Championship bound players to KORAT.
You can send the World Juniors players to Korat, but if they are not good enough they will still not bring that gold back. We gotta admit it that the lesser badminton nations like Singapore are slowly making progress.
we are just aiming to commit suicide when i see the list of players we sent... our local "heroes" like YKB, KBH, GTC/LWF......
but we still gotta admit that they used a lot of foreign help of course i am not downgrading singaporean but if they have more local talents like kendrick lee will be better...
