Hongkong SS R16 (2nd round) fixtures invloving Indonesian players in 2nd round: bold letters is my winner prediction Ms: Taufik (my president ) vs Park Sung Hwan Sony DK vs Yeoh Kay Bin WD: Jo Novita/Greysia vs Zhang Yawen/Wei Yili Endang N/Rani M vs Lee Kyung Won/Lee Hyo Jung XD: Flandy/Vita vs Yohan Hadikusumo/Chau Hoi Wah Nova/Lilyana vs Fang Chieh Min/Cheng Wen Hsing MD: Kido/Setiawan vs Fang Chieh Min/Lee Sheng Mu Luluk/Alvent vs Erikssen/Lundgaard
Matches involving Team INA: 12:45PM MD Fang Chieh-Min/Lee Sheng-Mu vs Markis Kido/Hendra Setiawan [3] -- a rematch of the China Open Semi-Final and Kido/Hendra should prevail again. 01:30PM MS Taufik Hidayat [6] vs Park Sung Hwan -- Taufik looked relaxed today and I think he will face Lin Dan in the QF. 02:15PM MD Tony Gunawan/Candra Wijaya [6] vs Tan Bin Shen/Ong Soon Hock -- a tricky match for Tony/Candra, but, they should be able to handle the MAS pair. 03:00PM MD Jens Eriksen/Martin Lundgaard Hansen [7] vs Luluk Hadiyanto/Alvent Yulianto -- another rematch and I hope Luluk/Alvent win this time round. The Danes has a slight edge though. 03:45PM MS Sony Dwi Kuncoro [7] vs Yeoh Kay Bin -- Sony was on fire today and he should progress to another QF. 06:00PM XD Fang Chieh-Min/Cheng Wen-Hsing vs Nova Widianto/Lilyana Natsir [2] -- another Chinese-Taipei pair to beat for Nova/Butet and they should progress. 06:45PM WD Wei Yili/Zhang Yawen [1] vs Jo Novita/Greysia Polii -- it will be too much to expect Jo/Greysia to win. A rubber-set will be a bonus to them. 06:45PM XD Yohan Hadikusumo Wiratama/Chau Hoi Wah vs Flandy Limpele/Vita Marissa [4] -- Flandy/Vita to win! 10:30PM WD Rani Mundiasti/Endang Nursugianti vs Lee Kyung Won/Lee Hyo Jung [3] -- a bad schedule for Rani/Endang and I don't think they can beat the Korean pair.
My picks A tough day for the Malaysia camp where only 3 out of 8 matches are expected to win. Matches involving Malaysian players 12:00PM WD Pei Tty WONG/Eei Hui CHIN [8] vs Miyuki MAEDA/Satoko SUETSUNA - The Malaysians should win over the Japanese pair. 12:45PM MS Roslin HASHIM vs Chunlai BAO [3] - The China Open champion is the clear favorite over the Malaysian. An upset is not impossble. 02:15PM MD Candra WIJAYA/Tony GUNAWAN [6] vs Bin Shen TAN/Soon Hock ONG - The veterans should have the edge over the Malaysians. 03:45PM MS Sony DWI KUNCORO [7] vs Kay Bin YEOH - Sony has been impressive by beating Boonsak in 2 convincing sets. 04:30PM MD Michal LOGOSZ/Robert MATEUSIAK vs Khim Wah LIM/Hee Chun MAK - The polish pair has been marked as the conquerers of top ranked pairs by upsetting the 4th seeds Lee/Jung and they should win over the Malaysian juniors. 07:30PM MS Hafiz HASHIM vs Kenneth JONASSEN [8] - A tough match for both but the Dane should have the slight edge. 09:45PM MS Tsuen Seng LEE vs Chong Wei LEE [2] - An internal affair and another breeze for the 2nd seed. 10:30PM MD Kien Keat KOO/Boon Heong TAN [1] vs Sudket PRAPAKAMOL/Phattapol NGENSRISUK - The top seeds should prevail but expect some resistance from the Thai pair.
It will be the darkest day for Hafiz's professional career if he is to be the only Malaysian to lose tomorrow... :crying: It will be the darkest day for Malaysia badminton if Hafiz is to be the only Malaysian to win tomorrow...
LOL. Seriously, I just hope Hafiz will win tomorrow... He is still the most entertaining badminton player of this century in my opinion. He deserves to be in the Hall of Fame for his entertainment value. Hafiz vs Kenneth Jonassen Hafiz will win, because Kenneth is such a nice person, and wants to give Hafiz an early Christmas gift. Plus, I don't think Kenneth wants to be known as the one who retires Hafiz...LOL.
How is it questionable? Who else have you seen that could be leading by 11 game points and still lost the game? Who else have you seen that could destroy his opponent(like Hafiz did to Jochim) then the next round lost to a weaker(supposed to be) opponent like Chan of Hong Kong? Who else usually does lots of fancy shots only to get himself in more trouble than necessary? Hafiz is more entertaining than people give him credit to be... seriously.
He was more patience when he played Simon ....it is true that he is fun to watch...I hope that he fights to get to quarter........
Without question ! He has shown great tenacity in his win over SIMON and we know SIMON is no pushover. KJ plays well but a fit Hafiz has no problem beating KJ.
It is really depend on his yoyo pendulum..so I suggest u not to expect too much from yoyo king (really dangerous , especially if u put ur PAW on him or against him )
Somehow I imagine a re-definition of yoyo-ing for Hafiz from this HK SS onward - winning a title at one SS, got knocked out at 1st rnd in the next SS (Hi, WMC ...), and then win the title at the 3rd SS, and then got knocked out at 1st rnd in the 4th SS ... Fat hope ...
