I think Alfa-2 is right. They always enjoy trick shots. Taufik is the only player in the French Open poster. The poster is the same as they French Open website. Everywhere, the crowd always loves Taufik. They all move to the court where he plays. Lin Dan is also a favorite but not the same way as the two other players I mentioned. LCW played with Kenneth J. yesterday, a European but the crowd cheers for LCW.
it is like F1 racer and rally racer..........F1 is faster (LD), but Rally racer (LCW, TH) is more skillful in some ways........
The same question crossed my mind before. I can give you some logical explanations, purely personal reasoning though. Language - some players look unfriendly simply because they avoid conversation since they do not speak English well; Natural Charm - Taufik and LCW apparently have it, it's not all good looks. Charm. Following your view that Lin Dan is world's no. 1, the only two players known to be capable of outmatching the champ are the 2 I mentioned. I would try to do some survey among the local crowd and let's see what they have to say.
RFLOL, fastdrop you don't have get so serious about this as to do a survey- unless you're very free while waiting for matches to start. LCW have charm???????? Taufik I believe, LCW is more shy than Taufik. LCW looks bashful during interviews, not very good in English(compared to WCH and a few others). I also mentioned Peter Gade- heard he's very nice, perfect gentleman and always entertain fans. Of course, then there's the skills factor that the Europeans don't have, badminton being Asian dominated.
It's not a serious survey, hehehe. I will try to find other people point of view. I beg to differ on LCW. He speaks English and Chinese well. I always talk to him. Maybe not as fluent as WCH but sufficient to communicate. I think his charm is in his being shy. He is not really shy, the right adjective is "humble". Peter Gade and Chen Hong are both very accommodating to fans.
