why not have the Finals in the bay area .... there are tons of places for the players to practice ..... unfortunately there is almost nothing in the east coast.

I had a good chat with Venu, BWF's event chief.

He told me that no venue has been decided due to sponsor....
More likely they will know by next week...he gave me the hint if no sponsor found, the event can held somewhere in South east asia...worst comes to worst..KL can be the host but I suspect that Singapore can be the host....for sure the final will be held this year despite the rumours that it may be cancelled...I has been assured that it will happen...

The primary problem of badminton appears again, lack of sponsor. It's very different story to another racket sport, tennis. Yeah, KL is the last choice as BWF headquarter to keep SS Final on the way. As invitational tournament with strict criteria that provide huge prize-money but no World Ranking point, this SS final is really need strong sponsor to finance it.

In this matter, I really doubt BWF's commercial ability... Is it wise to promise that there will be a Super Series final if there are no sponsor yet... What now? BWF cover for the US $ 500,000 prize money? Won't that bankrupt the organization? I am saying this because last time I checked, BWF is not a particularly rich organization... :p Negative cashflow!

Actually, I want to know BWF's current financials. The last one published was in 2003 or something... 4 years of no accounting... great....:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Don't be surprise that it may canceled in the very last minutes or postponed to Early 2008.
