Yup, we really need the spirit of Foo Kok Keong, Razif/Jalani Sidek here.

In Indonesia, such fighting spirit is commonplace .......

i was merely saying how hard Foo used to fight... compared to Chong Wei who immediately blame the coach... dont get me wrong - i am a stauch Malaysian supporter...

maybe they should ask Foo to come back to teach them how to vomit :D

    INA badminton environment is tough...

In INA, badminton glory is one way to escape poverty...
Like the Brazilians who used soccer to escape poverty... :)

Surely we will see some fighting spirit around, it is a matter of survival for some of those youngsters... Let me note that INA does not have social-security like in Europe etc.

I know this former badminton circuit player who now collect toll-road tickets because he could not make it in badminton... :( It is either badminton highway or collect tickets for the tollway... Tough environment.

Better perform now or you'll be on the streets [literally...] :(

Which one is more important? A Super-Series title or a World Championship title?

It's true INA only wins two Super Series title this year. BUT, at the end, Team INA does perform when it really matters: the Sudirman Cup and the World Championships. NOBODY gives us a chance....but at the end, we prevail!

Ironically, that's the reality at the moment. We really give our best when the chips are really really down (0-2 to ENG in the SEMI-FINAL) and NOTHING to show for in MD so far this year. Our champions (Nova/Butet and Kido/Hendra) rise to the occassion and prove that we are still a force to be counted!

Once again, Hidup Indonesia and MERDEKA!!!

Hm......if INA is not powerhouse beside china...who will be? sure not denmark or Korea...even Mas had a hard time....I think China and INA are still the best..at least with 2 titles from WC which more important than SS....

I am glad that my support all the way to KL was worth it....

    Congratulations to China and INA.

Yes, I think Indonesia can be considered the power house in MD, MS, XD and WD. I also would like to think Malaysia as the under-achievement power house and if players mental state can be toughen then we will be right there. Unanimously, China is the true power house of the 20th century.

CHN the true powerhouse of the 20th Century?!? Not unanimous!

In the Male Category, INA was THE powerhouse of the 20th century!
We won the Thomas Cup 12 times by year 2000. China only 4 times by then... Malaysia (+ Malaya) won more Thomas Cup than CHN by 2000. Then all the All England titles INA won in the 1970s, 80s, and 90s in MS and MD are proof... As well as World Championship and Olympic MS and MD titles... Too many proof! Ok, China pulled themselves out of many IBF competition back then in the 1960s and 70s, but that's not anyone's fault but China's... :p

In the Female Category, yes, CHN was the powerhouse of the 20th century.
Ok, too many All England, World Championship, and Uber Cup victories to prove it. Korea, Japan, INA, and USA are the other lesser powerhouses of the 20th century...

Mixed Team and XD... well mixed results. You can argue Korea was the Sudirman Cup multiple winner back then, so they were surely a powerhouse. But throughout the 20th century, the XD titles mainly went to the Europeans from England and Denmark. So they were powerhouses too. Overall, those coutries were surely better than China's XD in the 20th Century...

    again, u misunderstood my comments.
I said an All Chinese Semifinal, and 3 out of 4 spots in SF belong to CHN players. Means if CH can play in this WC, he can qualify into SF.

if you say CH will lose to LCW easily, then what is the reason?

who dare to say (before the tourney was started):
    TH will lose to AS
    LCW will lose to SDK
    PGC will lose to Sony
KKK / TBH will lose to Japanese pair
    XXF will lose to WMC

    who dare to say?

It's not China's fault. Blames the international politics that only "admire" Taiwan as the only China, so China's presence in every international aspect was prohibited.

For sure China was superior than Indonesia.
Ina can grabs 4 titles in WC 1980 in Jakarta, without any presences of CHN players.
When CHN players can participated in int'l events (started from 1982), China won all 5 golds in WC 87 in Beijing.
Then, China bags 4 titles in WC 89 in Jakarta, and Korea only one gold. even Indonesia can't win a single gold.

If you count the number of Thomas Cup that CHN won since they joined the TC in 82, it was equal 6 times with Indonesia.
without the presence of your arch rivals, you can't claim that you are the best.
Like Fernando Alonso said there is something missing if you won the world championships title when Michael Schumacher was retired. And he revealled it is 10 times greater to won the title when Schumi still on the track to race.

    your previous post :

    Brilliant!
Mas, Ina, Kor, Den and Eng can't do it anything to stop China. That's why they're very welcome if BWF launch a new policy to neutralize CHN might.

If CHN can sends 5 MS in WC07, there will be an ALL CHINESE SEMIFINAL, like they did in AE07.

result : there will be all chinese final :p

    your next post :

    Look Ahead

The only thing important about previous victories is that they are not the future. (No, I didn't say this... someone important did.) So, digging up truckloads of statistics on past performance is as useful as recounting what you ate for dinner some evening in the past. :D

Performance has little to do with nationality.
It has a bit to do with race, a bit to do with facilities, a bit to do with guidance, a bit to do with pride and a lot to do with temperament, skill, physique and natural talent. :)

China is no flash in the pan.
Until another nation comes up with a better team or better individuals, China (or the Chinese race) is indisuptably the master mould for badminton.
