The BMW handling and performance are excellent, it's totally a different driving experience compared to Japanese cars, and I never had any problems with my new 530i ... I'm loving it ...
I hope no one will get my logos. heheheh... anyway there is alot of Merc and BMw on the roads nowadays compare to before. No one would want to steal my logos.
I agree with you totally. BMW has improved alot in terms of handling and comfort. However the acceleration is slower than Audi. Japanese cars are good.. but in the long run they lose comfort. For me i love comfortable cars. Even i had my eyes on few japanese sport cars... they are not as comfortable compare to european cars.
Ants, get the new Z series ... it looks awesome No one beat my 530i on the road yet ... ... I'll try to find the Audi and race ... just kidding ...
you lucky guy...got a 530i...the look is great on one hand...the handling is unbeatable in the 3.0L class...when i drove a BMW last time, i felt a strong sense of quality that the japanese car can't give to me(i almost always drive japanese car)...on the way of driving the BMW, i kept on thinking to myself: "that's German quality...that German's culture...it might take forever in order that the japanese can acquire those strong sense of quality and put in the cars"
I like this one. BMW have a better handling than R8. however R8 is much faster and lighter compare to BMW.
I'm no expert on cars but I still enjoy driving my MB SLK even though the general gist of this thread sees MB as going downhill. It's the service charge that I don't like, £120 per hour charge for the mechanic. It seems to be £400 just to open the bonnet !!!!
I was told by my HS friends that "you have to maintain a very good relationship with the Service Department of BMW & Mercedes in order to save money in maintenance" Apparently, there are many extra fixes that are not required (money making). A good relationship with a trustworthy service-department manager will ensure you get the right service at a much lower cost.
