Gates are now open for MAS supporters which we expect in droves for their encounter with CHN. Come on CHN fans, make some noise in support of your team too. Prediction CHN 4 MAS 1

Later on THA v ENG. I'll bet many MAS fans will be around for this tie and praying hard that Boonsak and co. can save Malaysia's bacon. ENG can become the only non Asian side in the SF with a win. Promises to be an exciting one. Prediction ENG 3 THA 2

Bleak prospect for MAS....2 points they fight for as always are in MS and MD. The XD is a give away, while WS and WD are almost confirmed losses too.

As for ENG vs THA, THA will grab at least 1 point in MS. They have fighting chances in WS and XD (what a cracking match it will be....Emms/Robertson vs Sudket/Saralee). WD and MD will be giveaways if they put Arunkesorn/Voravichitchaikul in the WD.

MAS fans better watching and praying for THA to do you a favour.
Predict CHN 4:1 or 5:0 MS, THA 2:3 ENG

Sina Sports have posted a CHN vs. MAS lineup. i am not sure how they got it or whether it is the real lineup or not.

but anyway, everything makes sense except WS.

    LD vs. LCW
ZN vs. ??? (translation sounds like "Anita"?)
    YW/ZTT vs. WPT/CEH
    CY/FHF vs. KKK/TBH
ZB/GL vs. Tan Wee Kiong/Woon Khe Wei

I just read from sina website that Malaysia is fielding Anita Raj Kaur instead of Wong Mew Choo, this comes as a surprise to me. The rest of the team remains the same as the previous two ties. No change in XD.

    Not sina.com, it is qq.com.

and then there is the USA vs. UKR tie in Group 3A. if USA successfully beat UKR, which they should since everyone else in their group beat them, then USA will qualify for the SF as they will be 2nd place in their group. they will then play the winner between SCO and IND.

i dunno how well LD had recovered from his injury. LCW is the hottest MS player right now IMO.

The news about the lineup is at http://sports.qq.com/a/20070614/000105.htm I did not see any comment from the Malaysian team. China is fielding their strongest lineup with Lin Dan, Zhang Ning, Gao Ling/Zheng Bo, Cai Yun/ Fu Hai Feng, Yang Wei/ Zhao Ting Ting.

Anita Raj Kaur is the last minute replacement over Julia Wong and Lydia Cheah. She is the WS champion of a local tourney before Sudirman Cup. I have not read about any comment from the Malaysian side at the website. I just wonder are they still allowed to make last minute changes before the match starts?

the article rwchen found also says that the play sequence will be:

    XD
    WS
    MD
    WD
    MS

    which is really weird.

    :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

How the heck they manage to take a pic of that?

I though team-sheets are out only 2-hrs prior to the match?

Wow, that's a real team list! WMC is being rested for the SF :D :D :D

....seriously, it could mean she is injured/carrying an injury, maybe that's why she played below par against THA WS??

Anyways, dun think she cud have won against ZN but she wud have definitely given ZN a good match being the fighter that she is.

Still the target wud be be prevent a whitewash and hope that THA wins over ENG

If that is the order, the tie cud be over by the 4th match, provided KKK/TBH wins. I wud have prefered the WD last. Maybe, just maybe, if the tie is at 2-2, WPT/CEH wud perform a "miracle" match!!

the report says she is rested because she under-perform during group match. there was no mention of injury. maybe not a bad idea since WMC is likely not to get pass ZN anyway.

so it appears MAS coaches still have hope to qualify for the SF.

yeah. it is really strange. and of course LYB is fuming over it as he has planned it not to be that way.

and LYB does have a point. why suddenly change the ordering? there are no players playing two events so they should use the normal ordering.

Posting the permutation again in this thread. More relevant here.

    Div 1 Group A

    Current position: CHN(2,10-0) ENG(1,3-7) MAS(1,5-5) THA(0,2-8)
Last ties of the group: CHN v MAS, ENG v THA

    CHN win, ENG win - CHN(3,x-x) ENG(2,x-x) MAS(1,x-x)

    CHN lose, ENG lose - MAS(2,x-x) CHN(2,x-x) THA(1,x-x)

    CHN win, ENG lose
    CHN 5-0, ENG 2-3 - CHN(3,15-0) ENG,MAS,THA(1,5-10)
    - total sets won-lost tiebreak (etc.) for ENG, MAS and THA
    CHN 5-0, ENG 1-4 - CHN(3,15-0) THA(1,6-9) MAS(1,5-10)
    CHN 5-0, ENG 0-5 - CHN(3,15-0) THA(1,7-8) MAS(1,5-10)
    CHN 4-1, ENG 2-3 - CHN(3,14-1) MAS(1,6-9) THA(1,5-10)
    CHN 4-1, ENG 1-4 - CHN(3,14-1) MAS(1,6-9) THA(1,6-9)
    CHN 4-1, ENG 0-5 - CHN(3,14-1) THA(1,7-8) MAS(1,6-9)
    CHN 3-2, ENG 2-3 - CHN(3,13-2) MAS(1,7-8) THA(1,5-10)
    CHN 3-2, ENG 1-4 - CHN(3,13-2) MAS(1,7-8) THA(1,6-9)
    CHN 3-2, ENG 0-5 - CHN(3,13-2) MAS(1,7-8) THA(1,7-8)

Good news for Malaysia is that it is very difficult for them to finish bottom, even given a 5-0 loss to China. But avoiding a 5-0 drubbing will make real sure. If England lose, there is a considerable chance they finish bottom.

CHN lose, ENG win - highly unlikely, THA finish bottom
    CHN 2-3, ENG 5-0 - CHN(2,12-3) ENG(2,8-7) MAS(2,8-7)
    CHN 2-3, ENG 4-1 - CHN(2,12-3) MAS(2,8-7) ENG(2,7-8)
    CHN 2-3, ENG 3-2 - CHN(2,12-3) MAS(2,8-7) ENG(2,6-9)
    CHN 1-4, ENG 5-0 - CHN(2,11-4) MAS(2,9-8) ENG(2,8-7)
    CHN 1-4, ENG 4-1 - CHN(2,11-4) MAS(2,9-8) ENG(2,7-8)
    CHN 1-4, ENG 3-2 - CHN(2,11-4) MAS(2,9-8) ENG(2,6-9)
    CHN 0-5, ENG 5-0 - MAS(2,10-5) CHN(2,10-5) ENG(2,8-7)
    CHN 0-5, ENG 4-1 - MAS(2,10-5) CHN(2,10-5) ENG(2,7-8)
    CHN 0-5, ENG 3-2 - MAS(2,10-5) CHN(2,10-5) ENG(2,6-9)
