Well, wasn't the first day full of excitement, wrapping up with England's upset over Malaysia. There were a few surprise individual results such as HK's MD and WD wins over DEN and KOR's XD shocker over INA. Hang on tight for another day of rollercoaster action.

My predictions (Groups 1 and 3 only, rest day for group 2):

    Div 3 - Group A France over U.S.A 3-2
    Div 3 - Group A Canada over Ukraine 3-2
Div 3 - Group B India over New Zealand 4-1
    Div 3 - Group B Scotland over Finland 4-1

    Div 1 - Group B Indonesia over Denmark 3-2
Div 1 - Group B Korea over Hong Kong 4-1
    Div 1 - Group A China over England 5-0
    Div 1 - Group A Malaysia over Thailand 4-1

For MD, China will pair Guo/Xie to rest Fu/Cai. England's Tony (Clark) & (Robert) Blair could win this one.

    For Today:
Div 1 - Group B Ina over Denmark 3-2. I hope Ina win 4:1 to denmark
Div 1 - Group B Korea over Hong Kong 4-1
    Div 1 - Group A China over England 4-1
    Div 1 - Group A Malaysia over Thailand 4-1

    And Hopefully for tommorrow:
    Ina over hongkong 4:1
    Denmark over Korea 3:2
    China Over Malaysia 5:0
England Over Thailand 4:1 and hope can be 5:0

So if this all prediction are correct, the Semifinal Result will be:
    China, England
    Ina, Denmark

And China vs Denmark and Ina vs England

and then China Vs INa in Final....

INA vs DEN is could go 3-2 either way.
THA vs MAS should go to MAS 3-2, i think Ponsana can nick 1 more for MAS.

Meanwhile Sri Lanka can hopefully prevail against Ireland.

BTW, I noticed in Starhub Supersport description, they are no longer considering MAS as a contenter

    Quoted below,

"A prestigious team championship second only to the Thomas & Uber Cup, teams such as China, Indonesia, Denmark and Korea vie for the Sudirman Cup."

well , I think MAS will beat THA today .
KKK/TBH and WMC can easily win over their opponents.
    And then LEE CW or CHIN/WONG can add a point , so it's 4-1 or 3-2 .

I think you got to really watch how England, whom many thought will lose to MAS, performs for the rest of the ties. Now Rexy is in trouble for not being able to inspire the young MD to overcome the English veterans and for fielding an inexperienced XD pair.

ENG doubles won probably due to the surprise element in their play brought on by new coach TKH. TKH's charges have often given Rexy's problem. Used to be KOR defeating MAS when TKH was coach for KOR. So now would be wise for all not to underestimate ENG doubles. Ian Wright was quick to acknowledge TKH's superfast effect on the team ....after just one month?wow,TKH's gotta be terrific coach! Hope he goes round the world ,spreading his magic and lifting the doubles standard.
Sorry MAS, remember always never to underestimate your opponents.
Delighted for ENG.Congrats! Keep working hard.

i wanna know too.... in my opinion, if MAS beat thais n lost to china, we have to pray that thais can beat england:D:D .IF this happen, both ENG n MAS will have same points then it will down to how many matches that each team won to decide...m i right???

if england beat thai... then MAS have to beat thais n china:D:D:D:eek::eek:....

I asked the same question in the Day 1 thread. This is the response I got:
    - if MAS, ENG and THA are tied with 1 win and 2 losses each, it goes down to the number of matches won
    - if they are still tied (e.g. W5, L10), it goes to the number of games and points won

    Accurate?

    enlighten me once more..

the 3rd position in the group can still have a chance qualify to semi by winning the play off like the previous sudirman cup

No, for second only. I'm just using an example of ENG, THA and MAS all being tied after all the matches and fighting for the second spot (assuming CHN has won the group)

the play off is to determine the place such as 5th, 6th etc.. am i rite?

so, only the top two of the group will automatically be in the semis...
