I suppose Stafford to Glasgow is not that far.........like singapore to KL ?
I think team evets are often worth to watch. Lotsa excitement, esp when the tie is 2-2.

yea its not that far.. about a 4/5 hour drive :D

I havent every been to a proper badminton match in my life so this is my real chance.. i dont wanna miss out!! If anyones in the local area, maybe we can go together?

But i still hope they will show on the telly here in the UK. The problem is that they hardly ever show badminton on tv here. Its always football, tennis etc.. The only way to promote badminton in the UK is to televise it and show people how intense and exciting this sport really is. People just think its a back garden kids game where u just knock the shuttle back and forth.. lol.. Ignorance is a crime!

I heard about this badminton exhibition at badders.com. Whats it about? Dont tell me its going to be Gail Emms running her motor mouth again. *Well.. i wouldnt mind if she wears some skimpy skirt*. :p

Good to hear that they'll show it on BBC. I just want to echo Zeddie's point on the fact that they hardly show any badminton matches on telly. Pretty suprising especially when badminton england is really developing. And when they do show matches, i cant stand those patriotic commentaries. Worst coverage was the commonwealth games. I mean common, if you want to support someone, dont do it on the job for crying out loud.

lol AyiE, yes this badminton exhibition sounds really good. Besides seeing GE in a short skirt, you also get to play with her.. i mean play badminton with her if your lucky. They select a few members from the audience after the main match to have a few points with the pro's :) Also you get a chance to win the players rackets in a raffle.. It sounds like a nice day out and not too far from me. Where are you based? Tickets are still available and if youre nearby i can give lift wor.. :D

"to keep in the thread topic": Yea Badminton england is really getting big now. Just to give you an example, I live in a small town called stafford which has a population of 40K and there are already 5 BOE associated badminton clubs in the space of 2 yrs. Also im noticing that its becoming MUCH harder to book courts cause theyre always taken!! So many new players and old players finding their love for the game again.. always great to see. But more badders on tv would surely enforce the insurgance of this wonderful sport.

    LONG LIVE BADMINTON!!!!!!!!!!!

Damn you know what.. i just read the article again, it happens to be on my exam week so i have to pass on that. :( But it would've been really fun though! Apparently there will be several manufacturers promoting their items. Been meaning to check out the new AT-900 & NS-9k. I refuse to buy my next racket off eBay again. And a chance to play with Gail.. hehe.. you might have seen me making the headlines next day sounding like "Malaysian attempted a 'borat-style kidnapping' on Gail Emms" .. :D

Anyways, I'm based in London and even here the courts well taken in the weekend. As for BOE, this is definitely a cause for concern. I sure that is one of the reason england lack mens singles talents. They lack the infrastructure/facility/support etc. I mean its hard enough to get a court to play on, what more a court to play for singles?? I join a group who plays in the weekends and very often we have to share 4 courts between 20-30 people! :crying:

p/s.. i dont even know the thread topic to begin with. :p

    Hi Zeddie,

Funnily enough I was just looking at the schedule of events for the Sudirman Cup as I was thinking of flying up to Glasgow for a couple of days, but I am also going to the exhitibion game in Leicester with a couple of friends. I'm dead excited about it, especially about the prospect of possibly getting to play a short game against the stars!!! :D Probably won't get picked though.

It doesn't matter how much I practice I would still look lame.

Yeah it would be cool to meet up and say Hi, you'll recognise me, I'll be the guy elbowing small kids in the head just to get to the front of the queue!!! ;)

    Hi guys,

    Great news!
SkySport Extra (UK pay sport channel) will be covering Sudirman Cup from Thursday (last group matches) to Sunday (Final), probably the best coverage so far.

    http://www.skysports.com/skysports/article/0,,621-1119242,00.html

I will record the entire program and save it to DVD harddisk recorder and aim to upload and share with you guys as soon as possible. However, my knowledge of converting + compressing files from a DVD format file to divX/rmvb format of file is very limited. Any sharing knowledge on dealing with this process is highly appriciated.
Questions that in my mind including:-
    1) Any freeware to convert dvd format file and compress into divX file

    2) Which site should I use to upload those video files? Megaload, sendspace or any other recommended one?

    Thanks.
