I do use nike mid sneakers for ankle support while playing badminton. Serving me well. Sent from my NE2211 using Tapatalk
Depent on the level of games & the hall. Here on fun casual games you could see someone wearing running shoes. On some less strict place you could even see someone wearing sandal or even barefoot. They are fine as their level of games are pretty much beginner & fun stroke only. But on serious games, most likely they wear badminton shoes tho the pricing vary alot. Some wear a cheap one, some an expensive one. Regarding basketball shoes. The trait of basketball are jumping. So it had better ankle protection tho some of it are somewhat to much for badminton flexible move. In term of cushion it provide good absorbtion as its design to nullify impact from high jump but its heel tend to be higher than badminton shoes thus makes it less stable.
im currently using Under Armour Curry 7, New Balance Omni Low and Under Armour Curry 9. all very supportive shoes and very capable as Badminton shoes. I prefer the cushioning and grip, they last much longer then top end Yonex shoes and Victor shoes that I have also used.
anybody switched from badminton shoes to volleyball/basketball shoes as they got older? I'm thinking of making the switch, now that my knees are getting old, I'm thinking I might have to give up some nimbleness for cushioning.
Had you try change the insole? Flatened insole would lessen the cushion. Adding insole heel gell also add some cushion (its half cushion length shape that are on the heel area only). I use it when im on A950 but didnt use heel insole on my P9200. The shoes itself provide enough cushion. Does the support series still not enough?
