It was very hard for Momota to win a point, he had to direct Gemke forward and back, left and right before finding a chance to smash a winner. On the other hand, it just takes one pedestrian looking smash from Gemke to win a point :p

I don't think he could even qualify for Olympics considering his compatriots who are doing better than him. He has to surpass all the other 3 'K's of his country in order to think of even qualifying. He is not crossing Round1 at all.

He said that he didn't know what he was missing.

I think that he was lack of speed, too slow.

Yeah well Naraoka is clearly producing results right now though. So maybe the problem isn’t the coach

I hate to say this but I really wish Momota could win an Olympic Medal cause with 2 World tittles its just the only biggest thing left in his career.

Its sad to see him in such a lathargic state but I dont blame him cause he had had a terrible accident but I feel if he had to recover he could have by now and but I feel its more in the head that hes dealing with.

I saw how the Indian crowd cheered for him today and while he left he acknolwedged their support so Im sure he must be feeling the love and yearning his fans have for him to regain his form.

It was really upsetting to see him how I did today. He reminds me of the same fate as Ratchanok in WS cause its her biggest dream to get an Olympic medal and the way she cried in tokyo just broke my heart Though Im glad Nozomi,PV,Carol,Tai got their Olympic Medals which they rightly deserve before An Se Youngs entry and Yamaguchi's fire.

I feel it would be really hard for Momota to stand at Paris podium but I feel if he could find that spark again he would be back...But its only time that will show us.

I must also mention that with the upgradation of India Open I have met many like myself who have flown in from different cities across India to DEL to watch it LIVE.

The best part is that I have met many who told me their favourites are Japanese,Korean and even Chinese players and that just made my day and Im so happy to see the Audience side of the seating area filled with youngsters cheering for good badminton players without any bias.

Im so Proud of the Indian Crowd !! :)

Who's the most popular MS player there (outside Indian players)? Momota, Axelsen or other names?

The scoreline of which KM lost to Gemke I find humiliating:( I had expected better, at least a deuce in one of the games

Actually, Gemke was the man who take from Viktor 1 game, not many players can nowadays.

But this shouldn't be an excuse, we need more than what we expected. Momota should use all his energy after 11 point in game 2.

    Should be faster.

I didn't watch Momota's match, but considering his performance at the All Japan Championships, where he beat Nishimoto in the Final in straight games, this score line is disappointing. He may still be weakened from his bout of influenza, though, and this may account for his apparent lack of speed.

As far as coaches are concerned, I think Momota probably works best with Sato Shoji, his NTT-East coach, and not necessarily Nakanishi Yosuke, the A Team men's singles coach.
