Well, whatever the case, Momota certainly seems to be enjoying himself at the moment, ... at the national training camp. :D

Or you can just mind your own business and let the man lives his life. There’s more in life than just badminton, you know?

It's only a social drink occasionally. I can't imagine the fuss if he smoked regularly.

You talk for yourself since you are not a pro who earns a living from sponsors.

We want him to perform. Period. Discipline. Expectations from sponsors and nation.

When he retires, he can have all his time to drink and smoke.

I bet fukushima will smack his head if he does that after marriage. Why not ask lindan or lcw to do the same? Lol

You were clubbing in KL? You’re based in Singapore.

Your comment may bring bad luck to Lee Zii Jia ^-^

Especially as you mention of "gold".

Read about news of him clubbing too, seems like it's not just rumours. Now that's not something that anyone that wants to see Kento getting back to his old self should like.

I pretty much gave up waiting for Momota to return to his former glory. He dropped his attack strategy so much there's nothing threathening about him. It's totally understandable he underperformed in Japan Olympics because he got no chance to getting the tournament feel back. But it's totally disappointing to see him fallback to defence and rally immediately after pressured by opponents in recent tournaments, it's so predictable.
I dont care if he partied or not, he's not in the military, he only need to answer to his club and himself.

Various articles have started surfacing in the run-up to the World Championships, many focusing on Momota's condition.

During the national training camp, head coach Park Joo Bong had apparently commented that Momota's speed and physical form were inadequate; when asked about this point after the conclusion of the camp, he replied, "[Momota] worked hard on building up his physical strength, but returned to his team the following week, and I haven't been able to check his performance on court."

Momota, for his part, states that the increase in fast, attacking players means that he needs to further hone his defence skills (read this to mean that he is NOT considering a shift to a more attack-oriented game). Much of his training revolves around how to return the smashes of more aggressive players. In reply to a question on the adverse impact of the accident, he answered that there were times when he sensed he wasn't able to use his body efficiently, and faced problems in judging the distance of the shuttle, but that there was no longer any anxiety about these points. Instead, in approaching the game, he now focuses on how to get results, and how he can keep up with the current speed of the game.

Momota feels that he can still compete, and endeavours to keep that feeling in tact.

Thanks for the update. I read Momota's statement as he is still not confident in his physical condition, that's why he chose to stick to defence.

When things are not going well, concentrate on your strengths to get back your confidence. It will be hard for anyone to beat Viktor though.

Most of players who were able to beat Viktor lay on the same branch with Momota. (Lee Zii Jia, Loh Kean Yew, Antonsen, Kunlavut, Lakshya Sen, Prannoy).

Most of strong players who were lay on the same branch with Viktor, were his favorite prey. (Ginting, Shi Yu Qi, Wang Tzu Wei, Chou Tien Chen, Tsuneyama, Gemke)

Whether it is a praise or not praise or expectation, we 'hope' he and other entertaining players do well in general. It gives excitement when top players hitting on each other. Anyones game. We want to see good players succeed. Don't shoot or attack the messenger for 'hoping', just tell your reasons. Be nice and gracious. ;)
