As predicted all home favourites marching into last round, will they conclude this tournament with top prize? Clearly, Chinese Taipei has no star players in mixed and women's doubles disciplines. It's like practice session for Tai TY how she beat opponents en route to the final, the well-improved Hsu Wen-chi who nailed several IC titles recently becomes semifinal victim of her senior teammate crafty skill, a brief comeback created by Hsu at last stage of second game when she saved 7 match points as Tai made a string of casual and uncharateristic shots. Perhaps, the good retriever Kawakami could delivering serious challenge for home darling to bag 5th WS crown at home soil. Chou TC had arduous test in preliminary round, getting better and more comfortably in next proceeding including commanding fashion to outclass Soong JV in semis. Japan rising star Naraoka scores two successive final after edged past the upstart Lin CY in very balanced contest, the home hopeful had nice attacking shots, deadly smash but losing patient unfortunately in last two critical points. The Olympic Champions desperately need victory to expel barren spell that haunting them post Tokyo Olympics last summer, displaying significant downward inclination since then, never passed quarterfinal stage in just concluded SEA BWF tours. Fourth-ranked MAS combination and Syed Modi International winners Man WC/Tee KW surely aren't regular foes for Lee/Wang but men's doubles matches often spring unpredictable outcome.
That's 3 finals in a row for kodai? Weaker fields I know but he's getting better Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Totally. Even though the field is weaker (decimated?) At the Taipei open, it is still a solid performance from KN regarding his endurance and overall physique.
Man/Tee only pair up in 2021 and already have a World Tour title and a runner up. Izzudin/Goh have one World Tour title and one runner up as well and Soh/Chia don't even have a title although they got the Olympic bronze but both pairs have been playing together for years. Not saying Soh/Chia or Izzudin/Goh is bad but their progress is a bit stagnant and its something the coaches should look into. Sent from my SM-A307GN using Tapatalk
Chou's current speed doesn't cause problem to Naraoka. Unless Naraoka's stamina goes down, Chou will not win this match by this speed.
I feel like Naraoka lacks a bit of finesse in his movements. It feels like he is rushing and spending a lot of energy. Doesn't look efficient. You know how when you watch Lin Dan or LCW or even Momota - you feel like what they are doing is easy. That's because they are so smooth. Naraoka you can feel the rush
Naraoka is agile. Just need to brush up more on smashing consistent and done. A bit floating smash at times.
