The Singaporeans have played against Chia/Soh before and they lost. How can you say they have a better mental than Chia/Soh when they haven't won anything? At least Chia/Soh have a Olympic medal and consistently reach the semifinals and finals of almost everything they enter. Sent from my SM-A307GN using Tapatalk
You can say MD is the most unpredictable sector. for example its the only discipline where the Olympic medallist looks they are cooked and finished.
Two more titles up for grabs for Team INA tomorrow, with Anthony Sinisuka Ginting beginning to find his form, after a wretched first half of the year. With no Viktor Axelsen, Kento Momota, Lee Zii Jia, Anders Antonsen, and Lakhya Sen in the Draw; and the luck of Chou Tien Chen and his compatriot Jonathan Christie losing in early rounds, he will face the Japanese rising star WR46 Kodai Naraoka tomorrow. On paper, he should be fired up and I hope he can win his first title since January 2020! In the WD, Apriyani Rahayu/Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti were forced to 3-sets and what a close finish that was against the Thai pair they beat in 2-sets last week. It's their 4th Finals in 6 tourneys and they will face the fifth-seed Zheng Yu/Zhang Shu Xian yet again for a repeat of the Malaysia Open 2022 Final 2 weeks ago. I hope the INA pair can continue their winning streak! As for MD, no surprise for Fajar Alfian/Mohd Rian Ardianto who reach yet another Final this week as they beat the non-Pelatnas pair of Sabar Karyawan Gutama/Mohd Reza Pahlevi Isfahani. Other than the Japanese no 1 pair of Takuro Hoki/Yugo Kobayashi, there's no other pair who is more consistent this year. The INA pair has won 3 titles already (2 Super 500 titles in the Malaysia Masters and Indonesia Masters; plus the Super 300 title in the Swiss Open). Can they add one more to their tally tomorrow? They have a great chance against the SEA Games 2021 Winner Leo Rolly Carnando/Daniel Marthin, who reach their second Super 500 Final, after the Hylo Open 2021). Leo/Daniel beat their senior Mohd Ahsan/Hendra Setiawan in a dramatic fashion, after that fiasco in the second-set and trailing 19-20 in the rubber-set. Hopefully, Team INA will win 3 titles tomorrow, before taking a short but deserved break to recharge ahead of the World Championships 2022 next month!
Back to the drawing board. Up till now, he is still the worst performing World Champion. Period. What is he going to do next. I bet no change. Same game plan. Play and be mr nice guy. lol So Viktor wc kelong to him is no fluke. Those who dont know is well informed now. .
FINAL => https://www.tournamentsoftware.com/...B98-FF7E-437F-BFA7-4DF58665A650&d=20220717&c= Third final for Sindhu in 2022, the pumped up Indian destroys Kawakami who looked helpless to stem her tall opponent hard smash or slice of dropshots. Another setback for Japanese second stringers also scored by the weary Ohori, can't surpass Wang ZY, hitting the shuttlecock into incorrect place regularly despite she knew the Chinese weakness area, deep backhand and forehand at front court. Sindhu has slight advantage over Asian Champion, regarding her experience but she should be extra wary to a strong-willed and ambitious young Chinese, solid-defense reliant player. The rapid rise Wang is vying first ever BWF top tier World Tour crown and stay on course to pressure He BJ as China second best leading ladies, she clinched US Open title (S300) in 2019. This should be one if most anticipated finals today between reigning World Champions versus Olympic Champions, both pairs indicate downward trend since carved fantastic victory in major event last year and only nailed one S300 title so far, the Thai topped podium in GER Open while Chinese duo clinched KOR Masters gold medal. Bass/Popor nearly crashed out in semifinal by Goh/Shevon, their speed and control has been declined in last several tournaments, the consistency has gone since Chinese pair Zheng/Huang take over domination. Meanwhile Wang/Huang practically did practice session with Guo/Zhang yesterday. An ideal WD final perhaps amid the absence of China and Japanese high profile pairs here, Indonesia latest hotshots Rahayu/Ramadhanti experienced scary escape, survived from valiant Thais Paewsampran/Supajirakul. More dangerous opponents await them, Zhang SX/Zheng Y who troubled them in previous two encounters and likely the Chinese would change tactic to avenge their narrow defeat. Alfian/Ardianto are testing their physical condition to play fourth final in five consecutive tournaments, hopefully their consistency and finest touch doesn't dim in more prestigious world meet next month. Carnando/Marthin beat illustrious seniors the Daddies, the match which colored by unexpected incident, scoreboard error that caused 8 minutes pause and more or less disrupting Ahsan/Setiawan winning rhythm. It's been long time for Anthony Ginting to celebrate glory, the last time he tasted in January 2020. SGP Open, he swallowed bitter pill three years ago at same venue, defeated by once powerful Momota who made miraculous turnaround in third game. Ginting conquers the fragile World Champion Loh KY who's back into square one, the home favorite clearly can't bear huge burden and immense pressure to fulfill crowd expectation, unable to maintain the lead, the momentum shifting quickly to his opponent. The match going smoothly in mid second game for Tokyo OG bronze medalist as Loh tends to produce unforced errors, lost focus of his game and never came back till the end. A breakout tournament for the Japanese future star who checking into finale after outsmarts Zhao JP, the Chinese has edgy gesture throughout the match that interpreted by nervous shot or wrong anticipation of Naraoka sudden attack.
Rahayu could emulate Gefei & Gujun being double Olympic Winner at just 26. i do believe many Wd pairs can beat GreysiaR but now, i think only ChenJia can consistently beat this RR duo. Especially with both JPN WD through bad injuries and KOR pair as well. Need the 2003/4 generations but that wont be until 2028 OG
Indonesia WD is lucky to have Olympic Gold Medallist Apriyani Rahayu and Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti as excellent WD players to be paired up once Greysia Polii retired this year. Both are seriously very young, only 24 and 22 years old. Just a few months into the pair-up, they already won a SEA Games Gold Medal and 2 World Tour Titles (one each from Super 500 and Super 750, respectively). Another Final and another victory over Zheng Yu/Zhang Shu Xian in straight-sets 21-14, 21-17. Zheng Yu's serves have been really bad and she really needs to improve on this aspect is she's to reach the top 8. As for the INA pair, hope is indeed very high for them to reach Top 8 very soon (they are expected to be in WR40 by next week) and qualify for the Paris Olympics 2024! The big question is: will Apri/Siti still travel to Taipei next week to gun for another Super 300 title or will they give their compatriot? A title next week will make sure they end up in the top 32 and qualify for main draw of the remaining Super 750 tourneys (Japan, Denmark, and French) that I foresee will happen in the remaining months of 2022. The China-based tourneys (including Hong Kong Open S500) may likely be cancelled (yet again).
Chinese-Taipei Open WD Draw for Apriyani Rahayu/Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti: R32 vs Q3 (likely a local pair) R16 vs Cheng Yu-Pei/Sun Wen-Pei or Francesca Corbett/Allison Lee QF vs (likely) Chang Ching Hui/Yang Ching Yun [3] or other local pairs SF vs (likely) Yeung Nga Ting/Yeung Pui Lam [2] or Ng Tsz Yau/Tsang Hiu Yan [6] or Leung Sze Lok/Yuen Sin Ying or Meilysa Trias Puspita Sari/Rachel Allessya Rose So very likely at least another Final Placing unless there's no major upset. The other pair who reached QF this week Febriana Dwipuji Kusuma/Amalia Cahaya Pratiwi [4] has a tougher draw: R32 vs Febby Valencia Dwijayanti Gani/Ribka Sugiarto R16 vs Rui Hirokami/Yuna Kato or Melani Mamahit/Tryola Nadia QF vs (likely) Low Yeen Yuan/Valeree Siow [8] or Lanny Tria Mayasari/Jesita Putri Miantoro or Hsu Ya-Ching/Lin Wan-Ching or Pichamon Phatcharaphisutsin/Nannapas Sukklad SF vs (likely) Anna Ching Yik Cheong/Teoh Mei Xing [1] or Sayaka Hobara/Hinata Suzuki [7]
They look like they have this silent killer type and they dont even look like they are excited playing in the final. Their serves is steady and no serve errors etc, they might just win it if its close like yesterday if they end up winning without even playing well this tournament, then thats hallmark of champion.
I am rooting for the Babies to win this. Rian/Alfian don't need another S500 title. If Leo/Daniel can win, that means all the young MD pairs have each won something this year.
