Fans come in droves for the early rounds because that's the only time they get to see Malaysian players play. By the second and third rounds they will all fall by the wayside. Looking at today's draw (Thursday)...only one discipline will probably go through. Even that's because it's a Malaysian vs Malaysian matchup hahaha. We Malaysian fans has suffered so much disappointments already...jaded....we grasps at whatever we can.

It’s interesting to see quite a few womens doubles and mixed doubles pairs developing. I don’t remember noticing so many pairs 10-15 years ago but I wasn’t following smaller tournaments so closely.

Sorry. Cannot. Had to travel to the north this week. Ideally would have liked to stay longer for total trip but there are things in HK that need to be done.

anyway... a few Malaysian players sneaked into the quarterfinals of the 2022 Malaysian quarterfinals today. although the same gut feelings persists; ...only one discipline will survive into the semis....
