Msia 2nd wd lousy vs denmark. Many mistakes. Wonder why they dun use lpj and shevon? Their mix experience helps. Create chances. Could have win easily.

Sack the head coach. Why all must be bam players? Shame. Bunch of clowns running bam really. ;)

India beat Malaysia in quarter final of Thomas cup 2022. We need to learn from India to use the best players available. You can see Shrikanth playing second fiddle to Lakshya Sen. But in Malaysia we had LCW playing first single before he retired but never stay back to play second or third singles. Even LinDan had no issue not playing leading role. Is this an ego problem? I am not saying LCW could still play at top level today. But in the future we must learn to use all available resource.

Simple: because we never had anyone who was better than even 36 year old LCW. While other countries are developing 2-3 world class players at once, BAM seems incapable to developing more than one decent MS player at a time. As long as this issue persists, it will continue to haunt them in Thomas Cup tournaments.

Could it be the problem of training program? It seems even Daren Liew is in better physical condition after joining LZJ's team.

What I meant was could it be that the training program focuses on me person and making the rest sort of sparring partners. That itself can be demoralizing.

for many years, Malaysia lost to India for the very first time, soon what next countries that Malaysia going to lose to? Chinese Taipei? Hong Kong? Singapore? or even some Europe countries like France and England...?!
all because we Malaysia have good 1st men single but the rest are weak, thus unable to help team win points...
of course in team event, totally cannot rely on 1st single and 1st double, every players must have capable to win points, see the Indonesia team, all the team members are total capable to win points, and at the end they able to win Thomas Cup title without pressures...

BAM should invite the professionals to spar with and guide the young players. Look at what sparring with Daren Liew did to LZJ, he's become incredibly calm in constructing his rally, performing only half-smashes to set up opportunities to attack instead of smashing from awkward positions like he used to do. He stuck to his game plan even after trailing behind, which is very unlike his old self, where he would have just continued attacking mindlessly when things are not going his way.

Besides that, LZJ's departure clearly affected the likes of NTY and LJH as they are no longer used to the pace of top men singles attack, making them play a lot worse than they did in the previous Thomas Cup that just happened in slightly more than half a year ago. This is also evident in the cases of Lakshya Sen and Loh Kean Yew, imagine retrieving the hardest and fastest smashes from the best men singles player on a day-to-day basis and then come back to play tournaments against players whose attacks aren't as good. Coincidentally, Sen and LKY's form even dropped off recently after the training camp stopped for a bit.

Finding a mutually beneficial way to co-exist would be ideal. Terminating financial support to players who aren't performing is fine, but perhaps they could let these players use their facilities at a cost if they wish to go pro and continue to allow them to spar with the new players. This way they could make money off their existing resources and still have the new players learn from the experienced, which is a win-win situation.

LCW had to retire due to his health issues. If he had a case like LD and if other MAS players like LZJ were doing better than him, then I think he would have had no problems playing as MS2. But even the 36 yo LCW could whoop assess of other top players in the circuit, so I don't see why he should have played as MS2 or MS3 plus his ranking would have made him MS1.

MAS's issue is always only 1 good MS and 1 good MD available at the same generation. If she had 1 more of any of these, team events would be rosier.

MAS lost to the winners of the Thomas Cup so no shame. Even Ina lost to India.

MAS didn't have enough good players for a team competition.

It was always one player team, first LCW and now LZJ.

They lost because they chose the wrong doubles for the match

    Correct.
When the 1st double lost, it's gone. MS2 and MS3 is pathetic. Both players didn't have the belief that they could win.

NTY always playing with his head down.

The tactics used by every MS except for Lee Zii Jia was simply idiotic at first glance.
You have three IND MS, each of their specialty is agressive-attacking play.
    So, the tactics used was...rallying.
That's like pouring oil into a fire. Just playing rallies will not let the players get any point, far from it.
It was only delaying the inevitable. Just poor tactics and plan all the way through.
I want to see more attacking-play players just like Sen.

It's the talk of the town that the MS were trained to rally and play defensively, waiting for an error by the opponent.

Our female team got beaten in 1st round of sea games. That's a bigger problem in my opinion.

While I understand majority of the players are tight up with uber and thomas cup, and as such, Thailand, Indonesia and Malaysia can't sent in their best team at sea games, i would rather we send in a better team for sea games in the female squad. Simply put our women team, unlike the male counterparts, has no real chance in winning uber cup.

It goes both ways. Some will say like you but others will say send your best players to UC for the experience. Eventually you have to decide one or other but the consistent thing is, everyone will still criticise BAM. No win for BAM for this situation.
