Yes, it's the first time India has reached the Final. The 1979 team reached the semifinals and lost to Denmark. That was a different format with the old scoring system.

The new format was introduced in 1990. In the new format India has never reached the semis before 2022.

Bro in The Bridge post, they mentioned India reached finals for the first time after 72 years. Now I'm confused. Haha.

Their title on the video is wrong. Thanks bro. You're right. Inaugural tournament was 73 years back.

I checked the H2H, Prannoy has 2-0 vs Rhustavito, but they met in 2010 and 2017, so its hard to base any prediction on that

If it wasn’t for this ankle problem, this final against Indonesia would be pretty even and maybe even favour India. If India can get a MD1 win, it’s going to be a tense match. India might not get a better chance of lifting the Thomas Cup for the next few years.

Voot telecasting final in Hindi too. I hope they had a platform like Star where they could have streamed in regional languages too. Star does it. Anyways, with more popularity I wish they stream in regional languages too.

They completely annihilated Indonesia. Talk about shutting the lights off. Decades of wait to be crowned THE BEST TEAM IN THE WORLD.

I take back everything bad I said about Kidambi in the past.
BAI did a great job to pick the strongest team and every player was motivated to win. In the past I remember the top players used to skip the team events, probably thinking that the team had no chance of winning.

Why ? I don't see any wrong in it unless and until the post is very personal. If some constructive criticism is done to tell that things aren't what the player thinks, then we can say that. And we know what was happening at that time bro. There was a delusional feeling at that time.

As the person learns from his mistakes and olays proactively, I think it's a great thing. And fans like you and me are acknowledging what Srikanth have achieved.

I sincerely believe constructive criticism is a part of supporting a player.

It's okay to criticize as long as no derogatory language is being used. I think we all only do that because we want our players to reach greater heights and only wish well for them. We sometime write stuff because we are running high on emotions, stuff which we don't even mean but post in the heat of the moment. That's what sport do to you. But we equally show our respect and love for them when they achieve something. That's the beauty of the sports.

Honestly though, they don't do a great job with Hindi commentary. It could be so much better and enjoyable but they always sound repetitive, same old and boring one liners each time, every time.
