In the current set of QF qualified teams, Chinese Taipei is equally strong. MS1, MD1 inside top 5, MS2 in top 15. Not many teams have this luxury. From an Indian team perspective, I wouldn’t rate 2-3 loss to Chinese Taipei is too bad, 1-4 loss would have been. India can’t afford 2 losses from MS1/MD1/MS2. Win from Dhruv/Arjun will only be a bonus, no matter who they play against Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Why did KSS/Ahsan has to play MD1? Aren’t they considered as scratch pairing? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
What a match and a comeback for Team INA from 0-2 down to beat KOR 3-2! The first 2 matches went to KOR as MS1 Anthony Sinisuka Ginting continued his rotten form to lose to Heo Kwang Hee in 3-sets 16-21, 21-15, 14-21. He will still expect to be fielded as MS1 because there's no pt to field Jonathan Christie against the heavy weights like DEN or JPN or even MAS. Jojo (who is rested today) will be better off as MS2. As expected, MD1 was shuffled against KOR's formidable Kang Min Hyuk/Seo Seung Jae, who have beaten 3 INA pairs in a row now. This time round Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo/Mohd Ahsan are fielded and they could only hold the KOR pair up till 8-6 in the rubbet-set. After that, the KOR pair grew in momentum and only allowed the scratch INA pairing 4 more pts as they won 21-18, 14-21, 21-12 to make it 2-0 in the overall tie! I will expect INA to shuffle MD1 again as we anticipate to face tougher opponents in the subsequent match-ups. Without Marcus Fernaldi Gideon, it will be slightly more difficult to win the MD1 against JPN, MAS or TPE. The other two victories were from MS2 Shesar Hiren Rhustavito, who is proving really dependable in team events as either MS2 (today) or MS3 (usually). He beat Jeon Hyeok Jin in rubber-sets: 19-21, 21-8, 21-10. MD2 Fajar Alfian/Mohd Rian Ardianto were a bit shaky despite winning the first-set 23-21 as the KOR pair managed to keep up with them up to 12-12 in the second-set. It was at this pt that the INA pair got a second win and racked up 6 straight pts to make it 18-12. The lead was still not safe as the KOR pair again clawed back the deficit to 15-18. Luckily, no panic from the INA pair as they won the last 3 pts quickly to make it 21-16 to level the tie at 2 a piece. It was then left to INA's MS3 the debutant Syabda Perkasa Belawa (only 20 years old) to seal the deal. How did he come back from 7-12 down in the rubber-set, at the "disadvantaged court" some more? Totally unthinkable as he won 9 straight pts to make it 16-12, before closing the match 21-16. He did the same thing in the first-set, trailing 6-10, only to win 11 straight pts to make it 17-10 and took the first set with lots of smashes 21-14! His feat truly reflects his name...."Perkasa" or "mighty"! What a debut indeed for him and he holds much better prospect than Rumbay! Roll on the QF as INA's finish of Group A and they will likely face IND, CHN and MAS or JPN (tough call) in the QF.
Skiddy Mat strikes Yet again for 1000000'th time this time its LGZ. Now I dont understand why cant the organizers change the mops in between the matches given they are getting over dampened cause of the already wet court and what it does that instead of drying up the court it ends up dampening it further more as also stated by Miss Gill.
Because playing Mohd Ahsan/Hendra Setiawan or Fajar Alfian/Mohd Rian Ardianto as MD1 will not secure the point against Kang Min Hyuk/Seo Seung Jae anyway. Fajar/Rian are more dependable facing KOR's MD2.
Momota needs to change his strategy ASAP, his attack is not even fazing LZJ, who does not even need to move all that much to return them.
Was a little too late to make a comeback in g1. But it looks like KM has got the hang of the match. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
