Reposting from my original message in the main 2022 tournaments thread:

Just wondering if tickets for the Singapore Open are open for sale yet. And if so, if anyone has bought them n can point me in the right direction to buy tickets too. I’ve tried searching online but haven’t been able to find out. Thanks v much.

I hope LiNing is the main sponsor.

My friend has shoe and basketball shop at EastEight (Orchard Central) and he said he can get me free tickets if LiNing is the sponsor.

There doesn't seem to be any announcement of the sales of tickets... although SportSG is recruiting for volunteers for Singapore Open.

Can anyone who's been to Singapore Open in the past tell me if there are side events during the tournament such as autograph signing / meet & greets, etc? Currently in Singapore and seriously considering going if the line ups are good.

in the past, there were autograph session, but the schedule and player will not be known till that day, i think.
or you may try catch them outside the stadium, or inside when they are walking around/watching the matches.

Damn, I don't think I can bring myself to hassle them when walking around but I really do want an autograph/photo with Watan/Higa. I hope they will play in the event.

again, we wouldn't know. they could have signed up but then withdraw later. Singapore Open is the last stop of 3 back-to-back tournaments. Malaysia Open in last week of June, follow by Malaysia Master in first week of July, and then Singapore Open in second week of July.

Yeah, I completely understand how things work (apart from what happens on the ground during the actual tournaments). The possibility of them withdrawing is definitely a risk that I'll have to take.

I would even say SO is on the back of 5th back to back tournaments..

INA masters, INA Open, Rest 1 week, MO and Malaysia Masters, Rest 1 week and SO.

many could have called quit in the MS week. But i hope after MO people take break in MS and then play in SO. That will be 2 weeks break.

there is no 1 week break between Mly Master and SG Open. Mly Master end on 10-Jul, SG Open begin on 12-Jul, 2 days later.

Oh well then players wont have much to think but to play all their best in these 5 tournaments.

with the pandemic i think players should just participate in all the tournaments.

we will never know if there will be CO or not with the outbreaks.

LOL. He should have won the SEA games but he did not. I won't be harbouring any hopes at SG Open either (homeground or not does not matter).
