    Race is not a sensitive issue in Vietnam. My great grandfather come from Guangdong.

    In the past, a lot of Chinese sailed to the south Vietnam when Manchurian passing "Mountain-Sea Gate" (山海關). They've lived their for long time (until now) and some mixed blood with local people. (like me)

    Vietnam ("nam" in Vietnam means south, in compared with China in the north) has many ethnics: Kinh (86.2%), Hmong (1.45%), Thái 1.89%, Tày 1.92%, Chinese 0. 78%,.... (1% ~ 1 million people)

    There are no ethnic called "Việt". So that when I call "Viet people", It means the whole people in Vietnam, without mention of any ethnic. (I thought the same to Malaysia).

    As predicted CHN players rule WS semifinal round in this quite tournament, the most anticipated showdown will pit the rejuvenated He BJ against home darling An SY tomorrow while Chen Yufei faces her doppelganger to vie final spot. All the semifinalists have no significant trouble to power pass their quarterfinal rivals. World #4 An eyes revenge mission to redeem defeat in two previous encounters how to handle the left-hander Chinese who has experienced noteworthy transformation in her feat lately, especially elementary errors reduction and playing more efficient to earn point.

    A contrast fashion in MS discipline for China who brings full contingent here but all of their current core players crash out before entering final four, they have no reliable player to reckon at the moment including the stagnated Lu GZ to continue dismal quality, ouwitted by Thammasin in three games. Jeon Hyeok Jin overcomes Son WH impressively, 21-3 / 21-16, no surprise if he could bag title at the end. The up-and-coming Japanese Kodai Naraoka keeps his momentum alive to reach first ever semifinal in BWF World Tour and taking MAS independent player Soong JV next.

    It's reversal of fortune for recent All England champions Fikri/Maulana, they lost in same manner with their victory yesterday, very close battle, find tough time to penetrate the doggeness Japanese youngsters Okamura/Onodera. The veterans Kim/Kim rewind their old days to book semifinal after tamed KOR latest sensations Kang/Seo. Chinese revamped pair Liu YC/Ou XY combination maintain promising sign in second tournament following runner-up result in GER Open last month.

    I see.

    So the actual counter part is like this:
    Vietnam = Malaysia
    Vietnamese = Malaysian
    Kinh = Malay
    So that's basically how it work

    I think every country is different.
    Let's stop here and go back to the tournament proper.

    Asy vs hbj rematch tomorrow.
    I feel like hbj is the best WS player right now. Let's see if home court advantage works out.

    Love to see kim sa rang and Kim ji jung doing well beating seo/kang is straight sets!

    Jin yong and lee yu rim could be a decent pairing for korea

    They remind me of yuta and arisa, but definitely not as good

    China badminton really struggling now.

    WS - CYF hasn't been anywhere near as good after the olympics
    MS - literally no one worth writing about in this discipline
    WD - one of the only bright spots in the national team
    MD - again no pair worth writing about here
    XD - WYL/HDP and that's it.

    I am really not a fan of ZSX and OXY. Both very very average players.

    ZSX's interceptions and front court play are not good enough. Her smash from the back is also very mediocre. She has a decent defense but that's it.

    OXY has a good smash and very little of anything else.

    Think China has to do some revamp of how they develop youngsters because it's been a long long time since they've had someone as promising as some of the Thailand or Japanese youngsters coming through.

    Lai of Goh/Lai was not a threat at all. MAS played badly.

    An Se Young was in trouble with He's cross-court drop shot.

    Clearly An has a so well footstep but the shoots come from He Bing Jiao causing some difference here. I mean, the strange rallies.

    Not much player who was left-hand players in top 10, just Marin, but Marin was the type of player that is more of a strength than skill (4 corners skill)

    ASY doesn't look to be 100% fit.

    Wow, yet another prime example of Hawkeye being completely wrong.

    I think the second one wasn't as obvious now, but the first one HBJ got 100% robbed. If technology is this crap, we don't need it.

    I doubt it, the technology was good but the people who was controlling it was not.

    Here is Korea. Many things can happen in sport, even in football, not just badminton, haha.
