Just saw WHY's match. Mr.Clean posted the link to the match in the Chinese Badminton thread. Not convincing win. Has he given his all in the Korean Open?

Is korean open/masters usually so close to Thomas cup? I feel like in previous years, all the top players entered and this year its like a mini korean training competition/training. Heck momota was the defending champion in korean open and the olympics champions are the defending champions here for MD.

Definitely need to look for other sources.
If we see the soccer sponsorship, nowadays dominated by online gambling and some other new business.
Badminton is quite slow compared to UFC for example
And this is my 2015 post for ex-Canadian player on how to get more funding

Heo kwang hee just lost again. I think korea should name son wan ho in their Thomas cup team too to stand a chance.

Btw why did weng hong yang gav the walkover?? Was looking forward to see if he could keep is good run.

Watched Aya ohori vs AnSe Young. I must say, Aya ohori's game is fundamentally weak. She could not extend the rally more than 3 or 4 shots. She would make mistakes after that. If she does and wins a point, then she would be lucky. Her Basic game is so weak . Could not watch that massacre. That's why I switched off

I've heard that he's going to be retired, then he won Momota twice and he changed his plan to not retire.

But sorry, not that Momota, not World Champion 2 times Momota. So pity, so sorry.

I don't know why many want to win Momota now, but the fact is Viktor was World Champion, Olympic Bronze and Gold medal, and the number 1 on the ranking table.

^-^ Try to win Viktor if you want to prove something.

    Just checked:

Soong Joo Ven even was not in Thomas Cup team of Malay. It means he can be behind at least 4 players (Lee Zii Jia, Ng Tze Yong, Leong Jun Hao và Darren Liew)

It's so bad for Heo Kwang Hee.

It's pity, she played WS like MS, she didn't know how to play long rallies.

When opponents played patiently, she will be the one who want to finish the rally by her smash.

Sometimes take point by luck, but mostly give point for opponent. And when losing point she will show her gesture on court like she has to move along with 200kg on her back.

Barring any big upset, An SY-He BJ semifinal duel will be served on Saturday. He beat Kim GE in two straight-sets, same player who stunned Chen Yufei last week. He attacking tactic and some quality shots outplayed Kim despite trailed 2-8 in second game, the Chinese left-hander regains confidence to play faster rather than trapped by long and tiring rallies. The rejuvenated He BJ has more convincing performance than the Olympic Champion so far. Another Chinese representative in quarters, Wang ZY beat her junior rival Goh JW, 2018 YOG gold medalist didn't propped up by adequate fitness level to counter the persistent Wang ZY.

Patience, determination and fighting spirit brought the resilient Naraoka to secure last eight spot as both players have similar style of play, no killer attacking shots and most relying on marathon rallies, clever play by the Japanese to speed up the tempo in deciding game while the quite moody player Li SF still grappling with focus.

I don't wish to engage with you but there is something above in bold fonts which I must correct you.
    It's Malaysia, not Malay.

C'mon, I don't make joke about Lee ZJ anymore. Why don't stop chasing me ?

We can call the Danes to mention of Denmark, we can call the Thai to mention of Thailand ("Land" just means land) and the Viet to mention of Vietnam ("Nam" just means south)

C'mon, I don't like Lee Zii Jia but I don't hate Malaysia. You always bring "Malaysia" to entice many others standing to your side, right ?

Can you show me the difference of Malay and Malaysia ???
    .........................................................................................................................
The "sia" in Malaysia means "the country of".

So that Malaysia means "the country of Malay people".

It's the same with "stan" in Kazakhstan. "Stan = the land of/the country of". Kazakhstan means "the country/land of the Kazakh people"

Malay refers to ethnic origin - it is not the word for the country.

Please use the correct word of Malaysia and show some respect for cultural sensitivity.

    Thank you

PS. It's absolutely nothing to do with LZJ.

    I will take note.

But I wrote "Thomas Cup team of Malay", It means "the Thomas Cup team of Malay people".

Just a shorthand, I don't mean to disrespect anyone.

Yes. This is completely wrong - There is no Thomas Cup team of Malay people. All tournaments are under nationalities and not ethnic origin.

Just like Vietnam - there are many who are ethnic chinese but we don't call the Vietnam team Chinese.

Ok, I will take note and write Malaysia for the next time.
    ......................................................................................
In Vietnam, we call "Nga = 俄" (俄罗斯) instead of Russia or "Pháp = 富" (富郎沙) instead of French.

And call Malay instead of Malaysia (just shorten).

I will take it as experience.

Just to clarify, what you are referring to is called Malaysian, not Malay. There is a big difference to it. People from Malaysia is called Malaysian. Malaysian are formed by mainly 4 ethics group: Malay, Chinese, Indian and bumipatra. As you can see, Indian in Malaysia doesn't represent India, Chinese from Malaysia doesn't represents China. All of them represent Malaysia. Another to note is, Malay is found mostly in Malaysia, though they can aleo be found in Thailand, Singapore, Brunei.

I believe it the same concept in Vietnam. There are people who are Vietnamese Chinese, am i right?

Thanks. I didn't even mention LZJ in my post. Some dude is over sensitive due to his own character.
