LZJ losing to CL at the olympics was terrible, but we have to look forward, maybe LZJ can defend the All England title?

LZJ losing to CL is the moment I do not have a single faith in the player. You basically lost to a player who is old, unfit and had big blister on a feet.

To those who actually watched the match, it is completely opposite to what the media painted it as LZJ gave a good fight and yet failed at the end.

The truth is LZJ failed from the second game onwards. I had no idea what on earth is going on with this guy and why Hendrawan did not do anything..

Only the stupid Malaysian media and local fan base will start fanning a lot of hype on him when he wins some local tournaments.

Bruh, the disrespect towards the Dragon, though. An old, unfit & injured Dragon is still a Dragon, nonetheless.

That was his first Olympic and having won the first game against CL with ease probably played some tricks in his mind. As much as we wanted to see him getting a medal, if he didn't win the AE, we would probably view his Olympic debut as a success.

Patience is key. Let him recover & sort his head out. I could only criticise players painstakingly when they reach 25.

If Zii Jia doesn't get quality sparring partners 'when' he turns independent. Singapore might buy him over aswell

    No.

The country that holds the registration of the player needs to also release the registration.

And releasing it is not automatic. It could be a 'slow drawn out process'……

He can keep his prize winnings and endorsements. For a 22 year old in Malaysia, I don't think it's that bad a salary

Singapore can pay him to be a sparring partner. That might be unpalatable though.

Hong Kong or Taiwan might be better. No top dog to compete with.

another f*ucked up bwf rule that gives federations the lifetime playing rights of the players, even after they formally retire.
the olympics has its own rules. if it's your 1st olympics there is no waiting period as long as you are a citizen of the country you are playing for. you can become a citizen at 9:59:59 am and be included on your country's team paperwork at 9:59:59.01 am.

athletes who gain new citizenship or wish to change their olympic status can do so if three years have passed since they competed for their previous country. having 'resident' status does not qualify.

athletes with multiple citizenships can choose which country they want to represent, pursuant to the rules above.

Singapore pays little. Just look at how much LKY is getting for being a World Champion, and that too, from public contributions.
