I'm proud of today's KS. I don't care he lost, he played way better than last three years. Always respect the person who fights when everything is going against him.

I usually don't hate players, but this one, the way he looks after smash, the tongue out, head shake all these shenanigans look very disrespectful.

He'll grow out of his mischief. So Kevin should be on your list too, I guess.

Was there ever a time you see two Malaysia born playing in the finals at this level?

LOL. LZJ has never disrespected any player in front of their faces, he even came out with a lengthy instagram post some time ago defending and supporting CTC after clueless online fans like you called CTC out for being 'disrespectful'.

One of LZJ's biggest weaknesses is his tendency to lose confidence. He has the skills and potential to be a world beater but more often than not his own self doubt and nerves hold him back. So when he psyches himself up and finally displays the confidence that Malaysian badminton fans have been screaming for all this time, suddenly its 'arrogance'.

None of the players have ever complained about him, he rarely if ever gets a warning from umpires, he doesn't even make showboating shots like what LCW used to do to lower ranked opponents, and always minds to do his gestures away from the opponent. But sure, keep thinking in your head that he's an 'arrogant bastard'. Stop thinking badminton players are like robots who display zero emotion.

Yes to an extent, one has to be calm and composed to win big ones. CL is a maestro for a reason the way he played R16 in OG is super legit.

I am yet to see how he can tackle strong KM, against whom his attack can fail.

It's not even comparable to Kevin, who used to actively disrespect opponents in front of their faces and swing at shots that were going out. So it really pisses me off when i see people make such a big deal out of trivial things like head pointing when the opponent doesn't even acknowledge it.

Chen Long is a good, well-mannered player on court but I can't help but to say that his personality is as boring as his style of play.

    Still a nice chap, though.

And that's the thing. Every person displays emotion differently. But if the opponent or the umpires don't think it's an issue, we shouldn't either. Yes sometimes his gesturing can seem out of place since he would do it during moments where he wasn't even in the lead. But to call him such disrespectful insults is overkill.

Either way, It shouldn't take away anything from the fact that he played a tough game and came out on top to reach his second final of the year.

Badminton was at one time a cordial respectful sports, until a time when players brought in other aspects other than skills such as "unwilling to change shuttles", unwilling to pick up shuttles, gloating and taunting during games, overboard celebration and even dancing while half naked. These were not aspects of Asian games. Some spins it and call it "psychological tactics", I call it "unnecessary antics".

Lin Dan and LCW have both had their fair shares of "disrespectful manner" toward their opponents yet no one ever criticizes them for being arrogant. I still don't understand all this hate LZJ gets. People just simply can't accept that he has the potential to be at the top as long as he gets more consistent. Sure he might never reach that pinnacle and dominate like Lin Dan, LCW, or Momota ever did, but it doesn't change the fact that he is among the players who are capable of making it far at given tournaments.

Yes, Chen Long is a gentleman and I love the guy. However, you can't just expect everyone to behave like him (However, it is rather amusing to imagine a well-mannered KSS). Point is, like someone has said above, if even their opponents don't care, why do you?

The worst I've seen CL do is kick a shuttle across to the opponent, but not in an aggressive way and I think because he was annoyed at himself. Never seen him get a yellow card unlike plenty of other players.
